Bottled (from Ölkonsortiet, Aalborg). Pitch black colour, mediumsized brown foamy/creamy head. Leaves some lace. Aroma is roasted malts, some caramel and quite nice toffeeish notes. Also some very slight notes of metal. Flavour is mild roast, some caramel and quite bigtime metallicness. Toobad, since the metallic notes in the flavour ruins this beer totally. Atleast when cold.

On tap @ European Beerfistival. Pours black with a tanned head. Sweet with aromas of roasted malts. Some caramel notes. Tiny hints of metals. Medium carbonation. Medium to heavy body. Slightly sticky mouthfeel. Dry finish again with a hint of metals. Good well-balanced and clean brew with a no-nonsens attitude.

Draught at SOPP 2008, Helsinki. Black color with creamy tan head. Coffee, charcoal, chocolate and licorice in the aroma. Sweet, sugary, worty and mildly roasty flavor with salty licorice, dark rye bread, charcoal and low bitterness. Chewy mouthfeel with low carbonation. Too sweet.

(Draught at SOPP2008) Almost black. Largish tan head. Roasted malts and liquorice in nose. Full palate with little carbonation. Liquorice, coffee, bitterness and lightly vanilla in taste. Long-lasting aftertaste.

Draught@SOPP2008, Helsinki. Very deep brown color, tan head. Sweet aroma with some licorice. Flavor has notes of unsweetened chocolate and juicy malts. Syrupy mouthfeel. I’d like to have a chance to pair this one with some choice desserts.

Almost opaque dark brown color, small tan head. Milky, smokey, roasted dark malty aroma. Milky, sweetish stout with light roastyness. Way too sweet for being "Russian Imperial Stout" (as seller claimed).

Keg (SOPP2008, Helsinki)
Jet black, beige head. Sweet and raw mashy aroma, light hint of alcohol and estery vapours. Smooth palate, soft carbonation. Coffee vapours lifted in the alcohol when in the mouth. Full bodied - both heavily roasted and with light esters. A bit sweet, but not oppressive.
