Somewhat sweet flavor with notes of solid roasted malt, coffee and liquerice. Ends slightly bitter. Good but complexity could be so much better. tarjei (1745), Bryne, Norway

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 19, 2008 From Enjoyit via trade. Thank you Svend! The pour was an almost viscous dark brown with no hint of ruby, just lots of dark brown upon which sat a dark tan, but not quite brown head. The aroma was mild chocolate, lightly roasted malt and with some coaxing a bit of cedar/piney hops. The flavor was chocolate, roasted malt and even some light hint of band-aid. Skyview comments in his rating of noticing "rubber band" and wondered about the use of rubber stopper. Seems possible. The mouthfeel was average and it finished relatively clean. A decent stout. Didn’t feel like an IS, just a run of the mill stout. Brix (371), Denmark
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 14, 2008 Tasted 2008-03-14. Pours dark brown with brown head. Smoked aroma of roasted malts. Slightly yeasty taste. Way too thin too be a true Impy Stout IMO. Not really impressing in any way. Weak and boring, but drinkable. Pumpauf (28), Kirkholm, Juelsminde, Denmark

Very black, roasty beer with a smokey aroma and a creamy beige foam of a good stability. a nice hop-flavour lasts after the glass is finished far too quick! | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 18, 2007 11.2 oz bottle shared by brewfiend. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thin tan head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and tan ring. Aroma of dark toasted malt with some funk that has a character of a rubber band. Taste is full bodied, no carbonation with a dark roasted malt flavor and a distinct taste of rubber. Was this beer corked (rubber stopper bottle capped)? Not sure, but willing to try a bottled fresh batch of this again. MaltOMeal (652), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2007 bottle from trade with Papsoe. Pours a dark brown/black with thin tan head which dissipated except around the edge. Aroma is coffee and roasted malt. Taste was of coffee and roasted malt with a chocolate aftertaste. Not a complex brew. Mouthfeel was medium-to-thin, less than what I would expect from an Impy stout. Not a bad beer, just not memorable. coldbrewky (719), Saugerties, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 1, 2007 A very stabel and functional impy stout. Oh yeah! Bottle in trade with Maria....hence the Thisted connection. Again...oh yeah! Bottle pours a glorious deep dark brown with hints of amber at edges. Medium to full bodied with malts chocolate and a good handful of tart crispness mixed in. Nose is oaky with some port like bits floating about. A wonderful warmer on this first truly cold day in Upstate NY. One more of these would be dangerous.
