Marsiblursi (1631), Göteborg, Sweden Jun 19, 2007 (Bottle, thanks BillieMaria) Pours black with dark brown hints. Roasted aroma with mostly dark coffee beans. Undertones of heavy liquorice and dark bread. Some metal. Roasted and light fruity flavour with a nice chocolate tone. Also some salt liquorice and coffee. Tiny smoked. Light oily and dusty malt mouthfeel. Light to medium bitter. Dry ending. Lingering aftertaste. Medium body. larsniclas (3383), Gothenburg, Sweden Jun 12, 2007 Bottled. Thx BillieMaria.
Almost black with a frothy, off-white head.
Weak aroma with some licorice and coffee.
Rather fruity flavour with tar and smokiness. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Jun 12, 2007 Draught. Pours a black color with a tan head. Sweet malty coffee and chocolate aroma. Sweet malty roasted chocolate flavor. Sweet malty finish with chocolate in the aftertaste. rickgordon (3285), Göteborg, Sweden Jun 10, 2007 Bottled.
Black colour. Tarry, fiery aroma. Smokey backbone in flavour with subtle notes of chocolate and toast. Good long finish with medium body. gnoff (3560), Göteborg, Sweden Jun 10, 2007 (Bottle, thanks BillieMaria!) Black color, brown head. Sweet, soapy floral scent. Roasted malt and coffee taste. Salty aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA Jun 3, 2007 Courtesy of Papsoe. Thanks, Henrik. Bottle. Roasted malt, minor smoky notes and touches of chocolate int he aroma. The body is dark brown to black and holds a lasting, thumb thick, mocha colored head. Light chocolate/coffee with some faint smoke notes that remind me a little bit of Old Chub in that they are subdued, but very complimentary. Mouthfeel is light leaning toward medium, for the style. Some very faint dark fruit toward the later flavor ranges. Finish was a little tinny/metallic. Decent enough, but not definitely leaves room for improvement. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark May 13, 2007 Tap: Pitch black with creamy full bown head.
Chocolate roast aroma. A bit too cold. Light roast chocolate/coffee. OK body. Overall pleasant and drinkable! Light smoke. Good lacings! beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA May 10, 2007 This imperial stout pours a deep black color. Small to medium sized beige foamy head. Aroma is roasty malt and a touch of chocolate. Medium bodied Imperial Stout. Roasty malts, some chocolate a touch of fruit, but mostly roasty malts. Kind of one-dimensional and a touch thin tasting, but nothing objectionable. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
