Bottle. Small brown fizzy head that mostly diminished. Colour was black. Aroma was coffee, chocolate, liquorish, roasted with hint of smoked and wood notes. Medium bodied with a flat carbonation. Flavour was moderated sweet with some bitter burned notes. Nice slightly sweet liquorish finish.

It’s a black brew with a nice and very lasting, light brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and a bit of smoke. The roasted malt is also a dominant note in the flavour, where I also find a bit of smoke and chocolate, licorice, coffee and a bit of alcohol. It clearly leans towards The Limfjords Porter, but it has more chocolate and isn’t quite there IMO. It’s OK, but I would have liked to try this one unfiltered and not pasteurized - and finally it’s very young, a month or less, so I’ll mature one in the cellar for re-sampling.

Bottle. Almost black beer. Small thin head. Aroma and taste of coffee, malt, liqourice and chocolate. Bitter finish. Also I expected some more of this DB beer. A funny fact, being the brewery´s very close to a small village called Ungstrup! :-)

Bottle. Pitch black colour with virtually no head at all. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, bit of chocolate and some liquorice. Flavour is soft with a roasted maltiness, good sweetness, dark fruits, chocolate and coffee, liquorice. Soft roasty finish with a little chocolate. Pretty good but I suspected more.

33 cL bottle. Pours black with quickly disappearing head which looks brown. Fruity and malty aroma, wineous notes. Taste is hard roasted malt blended with bitterness and liqourice. Chocolates appears once the warms up. Finish is dry bitter. Good, but not the best there is of this type.

Bottled. The aroma was a little disappointing, quite weak and nothing more than moccha. But still not bad at all. Pours thick, very black, firm brown head, good lace. Sweet, bitter, blackcurrant, roasted, thick and dusty. Or better said: it has all a Imperial Stout needs. But because of the lower ABV it’s much easier to drink. I would love to have a case of this stuff to drink when I’m into something nice and special but not too complex. Thanks Papsoe!

When this bottle landed on the table, I still had a couple of prejudices about Imperial Stout. But this beer was suprisingly good actually - just wonder why they called it by a name that means "drugs" in Swedish. I think this brew dispelled my prejudices, but I still think it tastes better in Winter.

Black with thin amber head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and licorice. Nice complex flavor, good balance between coffee, licorice and chocolate. Long finish. Very oily palate.
