| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2006 Black colored, little beige head. Strongly smoky aroma with licorice, coffee, roastiness, ham and sweetness. Medium bodied. Flavor is not as good as aroma: smoke and roastiness, coffee and some hops there. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2008 aroma:something sour-sock / sour-milk in there that i don’t like, apart from that major distraction, decent stoutish aroma.
looks : pours dark, dark brown. black in the glass. thick brown-light-brown head.
flavor:balanced, ends up with a delicious , little bit sweet very roasted flavor, the beginning is a bit more tame and slightly fruity. also a very subtle sourish thing (milk from aroma) that i don’t like. the flavor after the initial impression, however, is good.
palate is a little bubbly,
if they could get rid of the sourmilkish thing, this would’ve been a great imp stout. as it is, still good, and a beer to be enjoyed slowly. skortila (2915), Bunnik, Netherlands

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 20, 2007 330. Thanks, Maria! Pours deep black with a thin, falling, slightly moussy off-white head. Mixed nose of dark fruits, roast, and malt husk. Oily body, light carb, bold roast flavors--fairly assertive attack. The mid-palate’s oily, roasty, slightly sweet, fairly tasty. Not much finish. Not a half-bad impy. IrishBoy (2731), Bakersfield, California, USA
