COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Sampled at EBF2008. Pours a pitch black beer, with a lightbrown head. Has a nice big head. The aroma is sweet with fruites and blackberries. This also gives the flavor together with coffee and sweet malts. The flavor stays in the aftertaste and leaves a good complex balance. Overall a very nice Russian Imperial Stout.

Bottle shared at daknole’s -- thanks! Pours a coffee color with a ruby tine. Mild aroma with a hint of sweetness. Brimming with alcohol, smoke, black cherries, sweet malts, ash, and juicy plums in the flavor. Great stuff.

(Bottled) Very dark brown with a small head. Quite licoricey, sweetish aroma with somewhat too evident alcohol. Sweet, roasty, lightly licoricey, hides the ABV pretty well. Almost full body, low carbonation. I found this quite good, and definitely easier to drink than similar beers from Mikkeller.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a beige/brown head. Aroma is sweetish with chocolate and notes of oxidisation (madeira) and dark fruits. Intense. Flavour is sugary sweet with dark fruit notes. Finish is sugary sweet as well, with slight smoked/cigarette notes lingering. Soft, creamy palate. Overall maybe a bit too sweet, but it still works. 17.03.11.

Bottled. Rubyish black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is caramel, sugary sweetness as well as liquorice and alcohol. Flavour is quite much the same, but the alcohol is actually fitting in the flavour quite well. Drinkable and quite pleasant.
