Opaque black beer, small brown head. Chocolate, dark malt and a whisper of brandy on the nose. Light palate - especially considering this big beast! Dark malt, mellow coffee, touch of brandy. A little tangy fruit. Dry finish with some minerals. Generally hides the abv well apart from a nice warmth on the finish. Very nice Impy.

Bottle from 2008. Thick black body and a large creamy brown head that is fastly diminishing. Heavy sweetness, aroma of brown sugar, sweet black coffee, dark chocolate, alcohol and some basement. The taste is heavy sweet and very light bitter. Sticky thick texture and a full body.

0.5l bottle courtesy of yngwie and my girlfriend as a gift on my birthday a couple of years ago. Its a deep dark brown near black one, not to much of a head on this but what’s here is dark brown and light sidesticking. A powerful lovely aroma with notes of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, tons of vanilla and confect chocolate, espresso and buzzy honey. A lovely aroma. The carbonation level is soft and really prickling carbonation with a thick chewy powerful mouthfeel. In the taste I get loads of chocolate, honey, vanilla before it ends really drymouthing. Almost a bit to dry - wood dry? - for a beer of this caliber. Lots of prickling alcohol in the aftertaste. A great beer! Big thanks! 29.03.2013

Pitch black colour. Aroma has vegetables typical to Danish ales and some licorice. Flavour has burning alcohol, some licorice and salmiac. Decent, but I expected much more from a 14% imperial stout. This one gave me a headache for the next day.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a beige/brown head. Aroma is sweetish with chocolate and notes of oxidisation (madeira) and dark fruits. Intense. Flavour is sugary sweet with dark fruit notes. Finish is sugary sweet as well, with slight smoked/cigarette notes lingering. Soft, creamy palate. Overall maybe a bit too sweet, but it still works. 17.03.11.

Black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet finish with burning alcohol. Too much alcohol and not enough bitterness to balance the sweetness. 021010

2008 bottle from dakine on 6/6/2010. fairly dark pour.... not thick just dark with nearly no head to speak of. it smells super sweet, roasty and smoky with lesser notes of bubblegum and raisin-like fruitiness. alcohol leaps out to numb my sinus. the flavor is full of ashiness which amplifies as this thing warms up. otherwise the flavor is the same as the aroma with an odd bitterness on the finish and a lingering smoky molasses taste. this is probably the single sweetest IS i have ever tasted... ick. combine that with a sticky mouth feel and very low carbonation and i can’t finish the sample... 7/3/5/2/13/3.0
