Bottled. A pale golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of straw and a bit of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and metal, leading to a bitter finish. The body is light. Thanks KimJohansen for sharing.

pivnizub (9290) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - APR 12, 2010
Bottle: golden, clear, medium-sized stable and lacy white head; sweetish (artificial?) citruss-flavours, cooked vegetables and cardboard in the nose; light sweetish flavours, light bodied to watery; thin sweetish finish with a hardly detectable bitterness. Gulp, one of the worst german beers I’ve ever tasted, almost as bad as WARSTEINER.......

Bottle. A - Very clear light straw yellow color with a lot of bubbles. Good sized bubbly, sticky, light white head. S - Smells pretty much of corn along with some toasted cereal grains. Fairly typical adjunct lager type of smell. T - A lot of toasted corn and cereal grains like a number of other adjunct and sub-par lagers. Also has a bit of a grassy bitter hop taste. Pretty watery and thin taste. The finish has a slight lingering grassy bitterness on the tongue. Not really offensive, but pretty thin. M - Pretty thin, but a bit fuller than others of the style, Pretty watery, however. Pretty smooth and refreshing mouthfeel. D - Well it is a lot like others of the style in that it is easy to drink, light, and refreshing. Has a nice bit of bitterness in with the slight bit of corn and grain taste. It doesn’t really make me want to grab another one, or really stands out in my mind though. It is an easy to drink beer though. Notes: Not really all that great, just a sub-par run of the mill easy to drink beer. Definitely a gimmicky beer, lets face it, I only got it because I am a Simpsons fan. Fun to have for the gimmick, but not really worth the cost otherwise. Not really a bad beer, but it isn’t a good one.

Pours like any light German lager - pale straw colored, light head that fades faster than most. Almost looks as light as a BMC type lager. Pretty average. Light maltiness, faint hops, very faint. No corn aromas for me, which is to be expected since there is no corn in it and no hint of infection. Pretty light on the maltiness, but it is there. Almost like a watered down Urquell. The high carbonation level is making it seem a bit drier than it might be. Light. High carbonation is tickling my tongue. Pretty average for a crappy light lager. This is a pretty good barbecue beer that can easily sub in for BMCs when your friends won’t drink anything else (get new friends BTW). Funny beer that I bought a sixer of just for the fact that it is Duff. The novelty wore off half way through though, now I have 5 more of these. Anyone want some?

Golden colour and clear. Has a lasting, white head. Aroma is malty, paper notes too. Flavor is moderate sweet, almost no bitterness. Light syrupy texture.
