(Bottle 50 cl) Pours black and opaque with a creamy, beige head. Distincly burned, coffeeish aroma. Rather solid body with very burned accents, licorice, coffee, tar and a whiff of smoke. A vague acidity probably deriving from the malt - ditto with the heavy bitterness. 160607

Draft. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with a lovely coffee note combined with notes of vanilla and dark milk chocolate and light notes of citrus. The flavor is sweet malty with very powerful notes of cocoa beans, dark bitter chocolate, and vanilla, citrus - especially grapefruit, leading to a dry bitter cocoa finish. Nice.

(Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Pitch black colour with brief, pale brown head. Roasted nose with coffee, tobacco and hints of citrussy hops. Roasted taste with notes of coffee and tobacco, hints of chocolate and liquorice. Lots of hops in the finish. Initially slightly sweet, dries out towards the finish. Not really complex, but true to the style and very nice. One of the best this far from Dugges.
