COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
En kraftig "Imperial Porter" med kaffetoner och eftersmak av saltlakrits. Inte lika dumdristig som storebror ”Idjit!” men har inga problem med att stå på egna ben!
English Language Label: From the one and only Dugges Ale & Porterbryggeri in Gothenburg, Sweden, an original, robust "Imperial Porter" with notes of coffee and salty liqorice.

Eftersmaken sitter i lagom länge

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a very thin tan head and some yeast chunks. Aroma of bitter coffee grounds, roasted coffee, roasted nuts, maple, and sweet malt. Flavor of tons of roasted coffee, roasted nuts, toffee, roasted malt, nougat, and a hint of sweet malt. Very coffee forward, which I love. Tasty stuff! 8/4/8/4/16 [4.0/5]

Aroma: The smell is dominated by heavily roasted aromas, coffee, bitter chocolate and some vanilla.
Appearance: The beer is dark brown (clouded probably), almost black, pours with a small beige head leaving little lacing. And some curtains.
Taste: The taste is deep, sweet brown sugar and with strong chocolate, burnt toast.
Palate: Very low carbonation, soft but with a dry almost coarse finish..
Overall: A complex beer, but with rather small body.
Note: On-tap at beer sampling at De Klomp.. Reviewed 2010-10-09.

Deep brown body with a bit of a chewy look and absolutely no head at all, hardly any bubbles at all. Aroma of chocolate, alcohol, pit fruits, nuts, earth and a bit of anise. Light-bodied; Strong roasty flavour with a nutty and quite earthy flavour with alcohol and a lot of pit fruit and sweet tastes. Aftertaste is bitter with earth, metal, alcohol and a lot of raisin and deep fruit notes. Overall, a decent baltic porter, but strong on the metallic and earthy notes with a lot of bitterness, and not much body and not so great in other categories. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 18-November-2011 for US$7.99 sampled at home in Washington on 23-August-2012.

Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of toasted and strong coffee, moderate resin and earth for the hops and yeast with soy sauce, vanilla and cigar tobacco in the background. Head is almost non-existant, no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is very dark brown with some crumbs at the bottom. Flavor starts moderately to heavily sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet, acidic, bitter and salty. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, kind of syrupy with a carbonatio that’s just about flat and a chalky, lightly alcoholic and a little sticky finish. This is a very unique Strong Porter with deep dark aromas, and rich flavors that linger in your mouth.

$7 bottle from bruisin’ consumed 7/26/11. brown color is the same as the bottle. small tannish head. aromas of caramel, burnt toffee, ash, chocolate, roast, coffee and toasted nuts. the flavor is about the same...a little salty pretzel, chocolate, roasty bitterness and an ashy bitter finish which lingers into the aftertaste. it is smooth and creamy yet clean and crisp.7/3/7/4/15+

The aroma is toasted and sweet with licorice, coffee, and a metallic quality. The appearance is medium brown with a small head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is thin. This beer is kind of sad.

500 ml. Opaque ebony with a lasting quarter inch of sticky foam. Aroma is dark toasted almond, chocolate, oats, vanilla, and coconut liqueur. Flavors of chocolate oatmeal cookie, lactose, toasted earthy nut, prune, light char, iodine, and espresso. Medium body is watery, with slight carbonation. A bit sweet to start, but ends up being a fairly well balanced ale with all the roast on the finish.

Bottle. 1 pint .9 oz. At first popping the cap I could smell roasted malt. Poured deep brown, nearly no head to show. Bottled Conditioned yeast floating around and settling to the bottom of the snifter. Nose is a nice mixture of Coffee, Roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is much the same with a nice surprise in the finish. I get a salty nut flavor. Kind of like a roasted peanut. This salty, roasted peanut give this brew its own Identity and make it slightly different. It was nice sipping this brew. The body was a little thin but I over-looked it. I really believe this is worth a try and I would drink again. Side note: I paired this with a Reese Peanut butter cup. I think the Candy complimented this brew.
