COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
En kraftig "Imperial Porter" med kaffetoner och eftersmak av saltlakrits. Inte lika dumdristig som storebror ”Idjit!” men har inga problem med att stå på egna ben!
English Language Label: From the one and only Dugges Ale & Porterbryggeri in Gothenburg, Sweden, an original, robust "Imperial Porter" with notes of coffee and salty liqorice.

Bottle from Liquor Loft. Chocolate roasted malt aroma. Burnt coffee and licorice in the taste. Also brown sugar, smoke, bread and salt. Low carbonation in slick thinnish texture. Lots going on - not my thing though.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2011 Bottle. Almost black with a tan or cappuccino head. Aroma: roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, licorice. Taste: chocolate, licorice, coffee, some wine gums, a slight acidity, but not on the same level as some other bottles I’ve had. Smooth, above medium-bodied. Raised this from 3.7.

Draft at The Bishops Arms (Vasagatan). Pours dark brown with tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee and chocolate. Same in flavor with more fruit and a dry finish. (Rated 2011/04/20)

Thin, sweet and fruity. This is not what I like in an imperial porter. There’s some chocolate and caramel, but it’s dominated by weak fruity malt flavors - apricot, plum, raisin - and odd spices, like licorice. I had high hopes for my first Dugges beer, but this one failed to come through (as did the second, actually). Mouthfeel was thin and watery. Aroma was light.

Sample from bottle, CBF 2011. Black colour with small beige head. Strong coffee aromas, espresso, salt licorice and burned maltiness. Dry coffee and cocoa flavor, espresso, somewhat vinous finish. Nice and balanced beer.
