COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
En kraftig "Imperial Porter" med kaffetoner och eftersmak av saltlakrits. Inte lika dumdristig som storebror ”Idjit!” men har inga problem med att stå på egna ben!
English Language Label: From the one and only Dugges Ale & Porterbryggeri in Gothenburg, Sweden, an original, robust "Imperial Porter" with notes of coffee and salty liqorice.

Poured 1pt 0.9oz. Dark brown with a slight head. Aroma has strong coffee notes. Malty flavor with a hint of dark chocolate. One of the best porters I have had, the higher alcohol gives it a slighty syrupy texture on the tongue.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2013 500ml bottle dated Nov. 2011 served in a snifter at about 53F. A: The beer is dark mahogany in color and poured with almost no head. This soon reduced to abit of film and a thin ring, and left minimal lacing on the glass. S: Strong aromas of roasted malts, dark chocolate, and dark baked bread, along with some hints of dark fruits and a suggestion of berries. Complex, unusual and rather appealing. T: The taste is fairly similar to the smell, but with more dominance of dark roasted malts. Faint, and prefectly acceptable suggestion of some burnt grain. Hints of dark chocolate, smoke, sherry and coffee. M: Medium-bodied. Hurt by a slight astringency and an overly low amount of carbonation. O: This imperial porter is not real strong in terms of ABV, but packs a bold smell and taste that have nicely balanced and complex blends of aromatics and flavors.

Bottle. Completely opaque black-brown, virtually no head. The aroma of rich chocolate and roasted malt carries several inches at least. Up close it carries a medicinal character. The drink is even more pharmaceutical ... burning with an almost drug-like sting, and a herbal, funky licorice. (#5049, 6/5/2013)

ClubGonzo (2764) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 5, 2013
Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Pours a good-looking tar black body with a large, creamy light beige head. Nose is nuts, dry cocoa tones, milk chocolate, hints of coffee liqueur, sweet grains and honey. Taste is sweet grainy caramel and dark chocolate up front, then fading away to salty licorice, coffee and hints of leather. Mid-palate there is a section that kind of breaks off into a slightly watery and metallic feel. Mellow sweet licorice fadeout in the aftertaste. Full body, soft carbonation. Quite nice.

Bottle (33cl) from Vinmonopolet (Vika), Oslo. Very dark brown colour, half-inch soft beige head, good retention, leaves a stable thick film. Aroma of roasted malt, salty licorice, smoked wood, coffee. Medium body, soft carbonation. Taste is malty and dry with a pleasant saltiness. Bitter-salty aftertaste.

Flaska. Svart öl med kraftigt moccafärgat skum. A: Kaffe, rågbröd, mörk choklad. S: Där är rågbrödet inte tillmärmelsevist fullt lika framträdande, utan choklad, kaffe, lakrits och brända nötter tar över.

Draft at Torst. Pours near black with a beige head. Rich and fudgey, with roasted malts, big fresh rich coffee, a hint of booze in the finish, and faint flowery hops. Solid.
