COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
En kraftig "Imperial Porter" med kaffetoner och eftersmak av saltlakrits. Inte lika dumdristig som storebror ”Idjit!” men har inga problem med att stå på egna ben!
English Language Label: From the one and only Dugges Ale & Porterbryggeri in Gothenburg, Sweden, an original, robust "Imperial Porter" with notes of coffee and salty liqorice.

In short: An unfocused dark ale of some kind. Just ok.
How: Bottle 500ml (I think it is 500ml), consumed one month after purchase, but if you add the long boat ride to get to north-america it was only moderately fresh
The look: Very dark burgundy-brown body topped by a beige ring of foam
In long: Nose is roasted, a bit boozy, some kind of alcoholised dessert, notes of black Sambuca. Taste is strange, very grainy with a sensation of crushed brownies, red liquorice candy, anise, roast, watery caramel. More hoppy than the average porter but the fruity hops feels a bit awkward, clashing with the rest of the beer. Minimal carbonation and the body feels a bit like thick juice. And also the anise-like spiciness just didn’t work here. Felt like an amateurish beer with a bunch of stuff thrown in without much planning hoping. Not sure why they call it a ½ Idjit, and that name confuses me, I don’t understand the four third of what fractions are.

Coffee, nuts, dried fruits and chocolate in the aroma. Dark brown with a tan head. Medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with a average carbonation. Overall a nice Porter, but i would like it to be a bit less carbonated.

15/VIII/14 - 33cl bottle from a trade @ home - BB: 11/II/16 (2014-913) Thanks to hackobock for the trade!

Clear dark brown beer, small aery beige head, unstable, dissipates quickly. Aroma: lots of coffee, sweet dried fruits, some alcohol, caramel, overripe banana, some chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of coffee, bitter touch, little sweet, some dried fruits, mocha. Aftertaste: coffee, caramel, bit sugary,s oft bitterness. Weird gelatinous chunks in the end, coming from the bottom of the bottle. Reminds me of the weird stuff in some Dark Lords. Are they cheating with some additives here???

10/16/2011. From bottle. Dark brown with a tan head. Licorice, coffee and roasted malt aromas. Robust and balanced with malty flavors and a bitter finish. Awesome.

Pours rather pale for an imperial porter, blackish brown with a finger of beige head. Roasted and burnt oatmeal on the nose with a wiff of coffee. Medium bodied palate, roasted notes and nuances of crisp bread. Dry and round mouthfeel but light and thin for the style.

@ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear dark ruby brown with a 3" tan head and full sheet of lace that flows back into the drink. Taste is roasted malt that adds coffee and anise as it grows in the palate, moving to a bitter coffee finish. Strong and assertive, a solid imperial porter (whatever that is).

Bottle. Dark body with high creamy tan head. Aroma has hit me in the face from half a meter away. Aroma is roasty, coffee, caramel, vanilla, woody. Very nice. Taste has high roasty sweetness with coffee bitterness. Well balanced. Body is full, low carbonation, watery.

This brew is a dark brown-black with a medium thin tan head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and hops. Medium-bodied with a roasty character of malt and espresso, along with some dark chocolate and earthy hop notes. The finish is semi-sweet with a charred malt and coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
