UPDATED: JUN 25, 2007 Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Transparently black, creamy beige head. Lovely espresso aroma. Potent and sweet with notes of lingonberries, tobacco and licorice. Rather thick and oily with some molasses. Saccharine and resin comes through in the finish making it a bit harsh.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DuffMan (4427) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 6, 2012
Bottle, shared with Parksy. Hazy medium brown with a low tan head. Aroma is pleasantly malty, with prominent dark fruits and background notes of coffee. The flavours don’t quite live up to the nose, with more of a brothy quality and less figgy fruit. A little thin, with a short slightly salty finish. Not terrible, but I guess I was hoping for more complexity.

Bottle. Frothy lightbrown good mostly deminishing head. Black-brown colour. Harsh malty moderate hoppy very roasted and light smoked aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Exstremely roasted and burnt, not very pleasent. Long finish. Creamy palate. Not my style, much too roasted and coffee-like.

Bottle from Liquor Loft. Chocolate roasted malt aroma. Burnt coffee and licorice in the taste. Also brown sugar, smoke, bread and salt. Low carbonation in slick thinnish texture. Lots going on - not my thing though.
3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 wkalle (263) - SWEDEN - OCT 25, 2008
50 cl bottle, poured a lightbrown thick creamy mostly lasting head. Nice aroma of coffee and chocolate which also dominates the flavor but there is also some really harsh bitterness and acidic taste which doesn’t appeal to me.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bager (2121) - Copenhagen N, DENMARK - JUL 10, 2008
Bottled. Almost black coloured with a small tan head. Some maltyness but with a hint of sourness. Notes of coffee and metal.
3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Pundarquartis (17) - Odense, DENMARK - MAR 29, 2010
Aroma: Nutty, smokey and sweet... pleasant and fresh... think of it as summer-porty-ish.
Appearance: Black with créme-colored head.
Taste: My first impression was, disappointment. A slightly sour taste with a hint of coffee and cigar smoke at the back of the tongue. However this taste was pale and watery.
Palate: Light and easy but without body... feels like somethings missing on the palate.
Overall: To sum it all up, it’s a decent session beer, but it doesn’t excel at anything really.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 HonusWagner (796) - Florida, USA - JUN 23, 2011
Thin bodied, strong and roasty but overwhelmingly bitter for a beer of this sort. Not bad, not good.
