COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
En kraftig "Imperial Porter" med kaffetoner och eftersmak av saltlakrits. Inte lika dumdristig som storebror ”Idjit!” men har inga problem med att stå på egna ben!
English Language Label: From the one and only Dugges Ale & Porterbryggeri in Gothenburg, Sweden, an original, robust "Imperial Porter" with notes of coffee and salty liqorice.

[on tap at EBF 2008] Roasty toasty aroma with some sherry and vanilla, but not oaky. Almost clear dark brown with a tawny ring. Extremely roasty flavour but not bubblegummy like I usually get from roasty beers. Also toasty in a Porter-like way. Sort of a hybrid Porter/Stout, reminding me of fo the "7-barrel brewery’s" stout. Medium body, scratchy dry, a touch sour in the finish.

Draught@Bishops Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg. Very dark coloured, almost black with a thick, creamy beige and longlasting head. Aroma is really strongly roasted malts, some salted licorace, coffee and a bit of tar. Flavour is salted licorace, roasted malts, coffee and some slight bitterness from hops. A real kickass beer from Dugges!

On tap at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. Served a next to black body under a tan head leaving nice lacings. Coffee, chocolate and roasted malt in the aroma. It is very smooth in the mouth, full-bodied and somehow dryish, even though it is sugary sweet. Coffee, burnt malt, some chocolate and a little hoppy bitterness too. Long coffee-like finish with coffee-like bitterness too. Lovely. (080913)

From tap at Den tatoverede Enke. Pours dark brown with a little reddish hue and a dense light brown head. Aroma of mild coffee and smooth chocolate. Flavour solid bitter, dry malt, smooth chocolate and a slight fruity to herbal touch into the finish. Ends smooth and nicely bitter.

500ml bottle served at a fine drinking temperature at 3 Små Rum. Initial huge, light brownish head disappearing totally to a shiny surface. Near black body containing deep rusty highlights. Just delicious aroma of creamy and smooth chocolate with an underlying, slightly roastiness. In-depth flavour of dark chocolate together with smooth bitter chocolate supported by a touch of salty liquorice and an ending of bitter dark fruits. A well crafted brew, indeed (Göteborg, 04.08.2010).

500. Thanks, Maria! Black with rubied highlights and a dense, creamy tan head. Absolutely spectacular nose of coffee, nuts, toast, chocolate, and black bread. Creamy medium body. Coffee, chocolate, roast, nuts, toast, and black bread on the mid-palate. Long coffee finish.

(Draught) Pours near black. Light brown head. Liquorice and coffee aroma with some notes of citrus, mostly lemon. Hints of berries with blueberries, raspberries and blackberries up front. Also some burned caramel in the nose. Pretty burned flavour with coffee and some liquorice coming through in the end. Tar-ish, salty, tiny smoked and some small hint of sal ammoniac. Thick, light sticky caramel mouthfeel. Medium sweet and bitter with a balanced dry finish. Lingering aftertaste of dark coffee beans, tar and hop bitterness blend with some roast bitterness. Medium to full body. Rather extreme-ish for a Dugge beer. I like extreme beers.

50 cl bottle. Hopheads´ tasting 22. august. Dark brown, almost black color. Moderate beige head.Aroma is very roasted and also has coffee and chocolate. Flavor is the same, and that makes this a very fine porter.

RBESG. Arich deep smokey peatyness comes through on the nose with lots of double expresso coming through. A sure pick me up! Taste is similar with some tar and liquorice and mimimal bitter cocoa finish. Slippery and long lasting aftertaste this is definetley a good porter as alcohol doesnt dominate
