ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark Dec 19, 2007 Dark brown, black colour with a small tan head. Roasted, coffee bitter aroma with chocolate sweet notes and a light hint of hops. Good balanced flavor made up by coffee bitterness and the chocolate sweetness. Dry, light roasted finish. yespr (11649), Copenhagen O, Denmark Dec 14, 2007 From tap at Den tatoverede Enke. Pours dark, hazy brown with a reddish hue. Head is creamy and mild chocolate brown. Roasted malt and chocolate malt aroma, mildly sweet. Creamy mouthfeel. Flavour starts sweet with notes of caramel and chocolate, some toffee. Quite flavourful. There is a mild liqourice edge towards the finish. Finish holds a mild berry note in a bed of malt flavours and some fruity bitterness lingering into the finish. Nice. faroeviking (6024), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Dec 13, 2007 Draft. Pours a hazy dark brown colour with a medium nice creamy light brown head. Good lacing. Aroma of bitter chocolate, roasted malt and caramel with a slight smoky touch. Quite good mouthfeel. The flavour has lots of bitter chocolate, good roasted malt, roasted caramel, some coffee, hops and slight metal. Bitter roasty finish. thewolf (5662), Kolding, Denmark Dec 13, 2007 Tap @ Den Tatoverede Enke, Cph. [enjoyed with faroeviking]
Pours a clear deep red-brown with a fantastic mwsium creamy yellowish-beige head. There is super lacing. Aroma has powerful citric hops, nuts, and deep caramel mixed with sweet milk chocolate. Super creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is lightly nutty at first, then caramel takes over before chocolate en masse and lots and lots of sharpish hops. I truly enjoyed this - even without the chocolate on the side. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Dec 11, 2007 Draught @ Den Tatoveret Enke. Nice brown creamy head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Pitch black color. Aroma of liquorish, chocolate, coffee and some underlying roasted malt, caramel and hint of floral hoppy bitterness. Medium plus bodied with an average carbonation and maybe a hint of dry texture. Flavor was moderated bitter with some counter sweetness. Finish is dominating bitter chocolate like that lingers. Quit nice. Not the correct brew to have with Chimay, Corsendonk and Westmalle cheeses, still a very nice beer! Defreni (994), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 24, 2007 Fad. Mere stout end porter. Dejlig duft af brændt chokolade, og en meget dominerende smag af chokolade med brændte bitre noter. Der mangler en anelse sødme til at modsvare den ret ektreme bitterhed, men til en hvinende sød dessert er det dog lækkert. Theis (3617), Denmark Nov 22, 2007 Draught at Den Tatoverede Enke. Dark brown - offwhite head. Chokolate, chokolate, cocoa, dry, dusty cocoa-powder, smooth, light hoppy, some bitterness, light milkey, roasted, red berries, fruity, light yeasty notes. OK - Nice.
