Bottled. Almost black in colour with a fluffy beige head. Berry-like nose with toasted malts. Good balance. Mouthfeel is smooth with coffee up front, after are layers of chocolate and green flavours from hops. Really good balance and not too much or too little of anything. The cinnamon-bun character I find in good BIPA’s are there as well. Bitterness is intense without being offensive and it lasts a while along with the toast character. Cheers to a great interpretation of a great beer style!

330ml bottle from Beerhive. Very dark brown with reddish tinge. Woody treacle tar hop aroma. Dry molasses flavour. Bitter aftertaste. More imperial stout than black IPA

Aroma has chocolate, coffee, plums and citrus peel from the hops. Pours dark brown with s small head that leaves lacing. Taste has almost heavy bitterness and light sweetness. Grapefruit. Full bodied with average carbonation and long bitter finish.

Bottle from a Systembolaget in Stockholm. BB... I think it was around 7.2015. The beer pours a dark brown colour, head’s light tan, big, retention and lacing good. Nose is nice pungent hops and chocolate and roast and citrus... Taste is sweet of tropical fruits, roast and notes of chocolate, finishing in a citrusy bitterness. Nice mild chocolaty overall thing going on mixed with even nicer fruitiness. Body lighter side of medium, carbonation livelier than your average BIPA, but still rather thin, palate oily and somewhat grainy. Somewhat dry in the finish. Overall? Nice!

Gbgbrouge (273) - SWEDEN - MAR 12, 2015
Poured from bottle, deep dark brown, almost black with low fizzy beige head. Strong aroma with notes of caramel, leather, toffee, dried fruit, some citrus and pine, though a sharp butter note drowns almost all other notes, perhaps old. Taste is bitter and sweet, followed by a surprisingly light malt body leading to a long bitter finish. Some chocolate and coffee is there but very slight, mostly hoppiness with a citrus/grape/resin taste.

Bottle from the hive. Deep dark red, tan head that disappeared. Vegetal and sweet hops. Slippy oily mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Bitter chocolate and faint caramel. Decent.

330ml bottle from Alesela. Dark brown black colour, beige foam head with alittle lacing and aroma of roast malt, orange citrus hoppy. Taste is smokey roasted malt, toffee, chocolate notes with floral fruity citrus grapefruit. bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roast bitter finish. Very drinkable.

allmyvinyl (5173) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 25, 2015
330ml bottle from the beerhive. Pours opaque dark brown, thin beige head. Aromas of resinous hops, light toffee. Taste is bitter in both a roasted way, and an oily way. Good hop bitterness. Slight feel of two different things going on, not melding that well. Clashing a bit, but not a bad beer overall.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Dark brown body with a modest beige head. Light lacing. Aroma of maple, plum, candy and treacle. Flavour of blackcurrant, brambles, muscavado sugar, liquorice and dark chocolate. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A truly special Black IPA - dark and fruity with something new revealed on every sip. I want to try more from this brewery.

Hopmaestro (324) - Örebro, SWEDEN - JAN 13, 2015
Aroma of faint roasted malts _and_ fresh fruity hops. First impact of the taste is roasted malts, dry coffee and a slight hint of licorice. After a few seconds the hops break through and leave you with a fresh cirusy finish. Pretty dry and awesome.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours black with a warm, reddish hue and a light brown head. Very lively carbonation initially. Lovely hoppy aroma atop a subtle roastiness. Medium body, very soft - almost velvety - on the palate. Quite some roastiness neatly supplemented by perfumy hops. The finish combines bitterness from both hops and burned malts. Good one. 251114
