Bottled. Almost black in colour with a fluffy beige head. Berry-like nose with toasted malts. Good balance. Mouthfeel is smooth with coffee up front, after are layers of chocolate and green flavours from hops. Really good balance and not too much or too little of anything. The cinnamon-bun character I find in good BIPA’s are there as well. Bitterness is intense without being offensive and it lasts a while along with the toast character. Cheers to a great interpretation of a great beer style!

courtesy of fiulijn - clear dark ruby-brown beer with a littl long lasting beige foam; nice lace; shy hoppy aroma with notes of black cherries and licorice; hints of marzipan; full-bodied, tasty and bitter, quite dry; fairly toasted and malty hoppy finish where more licorice and marzipan can be met

Black with white head. Aroma is hops, resin and malt. Taste is nice balance between hops and malt, sweetness and bitterness. Bitey finish but not lingering ad infinitum.

On tap at Scratch Bar as part of the Weekend of Darkness event 200714. This is a very good black IPA, possibly the best I have had. Dark as night with a mix of hops and malt that combine to make for a great beer.

330ml bottle from Systembolaget Passagen

Black stuff with nice sticky foam. Fresh hoppy and slightly burned aroma. Hoppy roasty flavour and feels good balanced beer. Nice one after sauna.

Tastes like a hoppy porter more than a black IPA. Think coffee and earthy hops.

(Bottle). Nice aroma of roasted malt and hops. Taste of hops and roasted a little burnt malt, experiencing it, however, as a bit boring and too sour. Especially the finish has a dull bitterness.

Tap at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell. Darkest, clear, ruby red. Thin, sticky, lasting, tan head. Stewed, dark, sweet fruits. Liquorice. Light cocoa. Taste is grapefruit bitter, but with the cocoa element sweetening things up. Lovely, creamy, soft mouthfeel. Piny, bitter finish. Very tasty. Very nice.

Bottle, bought @ Systembolaget, Hyltebruk. Pours deep opaque black with a medium, lovely, creamy beige head. Aroma has lovely fresh citrus hops, light coffee, chocolate, light roasted. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has good roasted malts, dark chocolate, fresh hops. Lingering bitterness. Very elegant, fat and soft BIPA.

Bottle at the Black (IPA) Friday tasting, from an IP trade with Nisse666 - thanks Thomas, 09/05/14. Black with a moderate tan covering that thins to spotting/edgework. Nose is bitter roast, pine, tropicana, dark berry fruits. Taste comprises light roast, burnt tones, bitter grapefruit, pine, scorched earth. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with semi aggressive hop bitterness. Decent enough CDA.
