Tap. Pours deep brown with a medium sized tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, chocoklate. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry with bitter notes. Full bodied, oily text and soft CO2. A delicious impy.

Refrigerated 0.5 L brown bottle poured into a snifter. Pours black with dark brown highlights and small light brown head. Aroma is rich roast, thick/medium body, low carbonation, and some big bubble lacing. Taste is roasty, coffee, some espresso, ash (more as it warms), and slightly dry bitter hop finish. Not one of the better imperial stouts I have had.

Medium to good dark beige head over black beer with foxy-brown reflections. Outspoken coffee/mocha nose, not much else, except evidently roasted malts. Bitter & sweet are suggested. More dry coffee in the mouth, first dry, later more sweetness, going over into the aftertaste with some burning in the mouthfeel, and a vague metallic tang. Charcoal, roast. Medium to well-bodied; obviously quite slick, alcoholwarming. There’s better around in Scandinavia, certainly in this style.

Black in the glass, a decent sized head that holds ok. Nice roasted malts, some coffee and chocolate. A aftertaste that is very nice and holds for a long time.

Tap @ BeerTemple, small sample. Dark color, short head. Aroma of loads of coffee and roasted malts. Roasty bitterness in taste. Pretty straightforward RIS, bit dry even, mostly powered on roast and some coffee. Could have used some more creaminess, but nonetheless I enjoyed it quite a bit.

On tap at Beer Temple. Black colour, dense beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, quite sweet and chocolate-centered. Flavour is medium-sweet, hard roasted malts, milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, decent bitter roasty finish. Medium to full-bodied. Quite sweet, but nice.

Tap at the Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Poured a deep mahogany with a frothy light tan head and lots of broken lace. The aroma is rich creamy coffee and roasted malt. The flavour is strong bitter with a big smooth liqourice alcohol bitter malt palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation and a long bitter finish.

Poured from a 500ml bottle. This has the same fishy/oily character that I got in 1/2 idjit. It is in the background but I can still taste it. There is a soft pie cherry brettanomyces note in the aroma. The flavor is thick, oily chocolate, restrained roasted malt character. Sweet finish accentuates the thick viscosity. Not bad.
