3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours pitch black with a small dense light brown head. Looks great! Flavours of chocolate mousse made from dark chocolates, tobacco, leather, some wood, licorice, red wine gums and a very raw, unrefined flavour that I can’t define. I don’t really like that unrefined flavour, which brings the whole beer down for me, but I’m hoping it will be better with age.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: OCT 18, 2012 Bottle, 2010 version. Black with a large brown head. Aroma: chocolate mousse, licorice, berries. Taste: chocolate, berries, licorice, wine gums, honey, quite sweet, with some alcohol. Full, silky, creamy mouthfeel. Heavy but balanced, very good!
Bottle, 2012 version, after brewery moved.
Aroma: cocoa powder, coffee, roasted.
Taste: cocoa and milk chocolate, dried fruits, maybe syrup or brown sugar, coffee, some citrus.
Overall: at the moment, I wasn’t as convinced by this as the 2010 version. Still very nice, and a couple of bottles will be cellared for later.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours black with a light brown head. Very small bubbles.
Aroma is caramel, toffee, dark chocolate, cacao powder, pumpernickel and licorice.
Taste is sweet and sour, almost too sweet specially since the body is quite light. But still quite tasty with cacao, arrack, roasted notes and salty licorice.
It´s Not very refined but maybe that´s what makes it so tasty. Think it would fit perfect to drink to boozy chocolate. Oily texture. Best Dugges so far.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sample @ SBWF ’10. Pours very black with a small beige head. Very intense aroma with raisins, rum, alcohol. Rich and sweet taste with more of the above, but with some roasted malts and coffee at the end. There’s also an acidic touch. The mouthfeel is nice and oily. A big and bold beer.

Bottled. Black colour, smal head. Aroma is liquorice, some alcohol, mild wooden notes as well as some slight vanilla, tobacco and slight roasted notes. Flavour is quite much the same, with the liquorice being the strongest element. Lovely Imperial Stout!

Bottle (Stockholm Beer Festival 2010) - Black in colour. Inviting aroma with notes of roasted malt, plain chocolate and coffee. The taste is rich, yet nicely balanced, with notes of coffee and plain chocolate particularly evident. Very smooth and easy to drink.
