3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Aubrey (3347) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - AUG 21, 2012
Solid beer. Hard to explain why, but this tasted more like an imperial porter or Baltic porter than an imperial stout, but I’ll move on. Had some complex flavors of black licorice, chocolate, vanilla, creamed espresso and raisins. Boldly roasted, but it’s rounded and not harsh. Deep brown color; patchy and thin head. Thick, syrupy and smooth texture. Pleasant beer.

Pours opaque brown, minimal head. Tastes sweet, slighty sour, with a hint of bitter. Coffee, caramel, charcoal, smoke. Finishes dry and smokey.

Interesting brew. Poured at a good temperature with a small, tan - with brown highlights, foamy head that soon settled down and no lace. Color is an opaque black brown. Aroma is massive cocoa, with malt, and roast. Flavor’s like nose plus include some molasses, toffee, and in the finish some coffee. Sweet is up front with some bitter to tone it down along with some carbonic tang. Body is soft and full, but has a few slight high bitter points. Finish is like flavor, slowly tapers, and has a slight alcohol warmth.

Bottle at Spuyten Duyvil. Pours slick oil black. Nose is dark chocolate, berries. Smooth and barely carbonated. Strong dark chocolate, coffee and berry notes with a hint of licorice And bubblegum in the finish.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Lukaduke (1065) - Portland, Maine, USA - JUL 29, 2012
Pours a rich black color with no visible head but some side clinging bubbles. Aromas are rich chocolate cocoa, vanilla bean, licorice and a touch of dark espresso beans. On the palate there is a rich creamy texture that tingles away with a little bubble and tons of flavors that follow the nose nicely. Throw in the mix a plethora of dark fruit; raisins, figs and a touch of black coffee acidity to balance out the booze on the finish.
1.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 Patrik (92) - - JUL 28, 2012
Taste like oil and i think some one light have dropped a lot of Coffie-Grounds into the beer. I find this very hard to drink but hopfully my taste changes dramatically when i get older so i can enyou this kind of beer or what its called.

Dugges idjit vs perfect idjit. 330cl bottle... Both pour relatively
deeper dark cola brown with less dark edges to coincide with a thin
wisp of light beige head that is more apparent in the standard mire so
than in the oak aged... Aroma in regular is a bit more nutty roast
with a charred chocolate profile. A touch of dark fruit present in the
backend. Barrel version is more tame with wood and bourbon notes and
definitely doesn’t have the roast and characteristics exhibited by the
standard version... Flavors of the first are soy with char and roast,
semi-sweet in nature with a light roasty finish. Body and finish are
nice with a nice flavor profile overall. The oak barrel version has a
similar sweetness level with notes of fudge that coincide with the oak
and bourbon or whatever barrel that was used. Nice balance although
the barrel takes a slight precedence.
Regular: 8/3/8/4/15
Oak aged: 7/3/8/3/14

Pours a deep bubbly cola into a tulip. Mocha head recedes to hug rim. Sweet chocolate and espresso aromas. Thick with deep dark espresso upfront turning to milk chocolate in the middle before a lasting hot mocha finish.
