Bottle. Muddy brown color, no head. Aroma of vegetables and coffee. Taste is mud and cardboard. A bad batch? An old bottle? Not sure, but certainly not in line with other fines beers I’ve had from this brewery.

Fra flaske, dufter dejligt af karamel og brun farin... farven er grumset lysebrun med svagt lysebrunt skum...... smager af karamel og brun farin ( sød ) men svag eftersmag.... ellers alt i alt en ok øl !

0.5l bottle @ Schoukjelleren, Oslo. This is a near black beer with a thin sidesticking khaki head. The aroma has licorice, dark yeast, hints of banana and old shoes. Strange stuff. It has a soft carbonation level and a oily mouthfeel. Flavors are both smoky and licorice-rich. Tones of dark smoky light roasted sweet malts and perhaps some thin coffee notes as well. Strange stuff, and I’m not really sure if I really liked this, but it was drinkable.

Bottle@Home. Loads of chocolate and coffee in the aroma. Black, small light brown disappearing head, no lace. Very sweet, sugary, chocolate, hint of coffee, hint of cola. Starts soft, medium body but watery finish.

Bottle shared at tasting. Dark brown with little white head. Aroma is chocolate. Flavour chocolate and malt but way to thin and muted. Very disappointing for a Dugges beer.

500mL thanks to Travlr. Muddy mahogany with tan bubbles. No retention. Sour nose with spoiled dairy and mild dark cherry. Some milk chocolate. Taste is seltzer and drained with no body. Odd gritty powder and raw spiky earth. Very bad. Nasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Once again I find myself a bit dissappointed by a Dugges. It looks all right, good black body, and a bit small yet good looking light brown head that didn’t last for long. Aroma is all malt, maybe with a bit hoppy hint. I find the body very thin for the style, and it has a taste matching the aroma, sweet malts and not much else. The thing I liked best with the beer is the admittedly cheeky label :) Bottle was shared with a friend, and neither of us finished the glass.

50 cl bottle chared by two thirsty mates. Aroma: Somewhat sour, small notes of coffe.. and a salty almost oceanlike scent. Dark brown to black in colour, a nice firm head at first, 2 fingers high faints after little while. A slender body that could use some creaminess, thats missing here. Tastes of dark chocolate, roasted malts and little bit of hoppy bitterness. Aftertaste is quite dry which always is nice in a beer like this. There is that sourness again which dominates the aftertaste and mostly is just irratating. A tame stout that lacks of both caracter and balance. Wouldnt by it again but worth the try at least.

UPDATED: JUL 21, 2011 Dark redish brown, almost black. Porous greyish light brown head that barely leaves any lacing and falls pretty quickly. Roasted sourish notes in the nose with some weedy hops, cold weak coffee, a hint of cheap chocolate, seawater, dark fruit and oatmeal porrige. Not a very strong aroma I must say. Taste is pretty weak and watery. Some kind of sour acidic taste that reminds me of dirty water. In the aftertaste comes a bit more full note of coffee and chocolate. Maybe theres something left to understand but I dont like this at all. Feels more like a schwartzbier to me.
