Deep amber, slight haze, decent head slowly fades entirely. Aroma strongly of caramel malt, accented by a touch of grapefruit hops. Flavor is caramel malts, what I would consider to be "Maris Otter" character, fruity yeast apparent (also seemingly quite English), and comparatively light use of grapefruit accented bittering hops, sort of like a Centennial. I could be utterly wrong about the ingredients of course, but this is what it invokes. Not bad, but didn’t quite do it for me either. I prefer a cleaner expression of hop flavor in an IIPA.

Tap, SBWF. The color was dark amber-like, foam rather big. Much grass, grapefruit, hops and some caramel and some chocolate. The beer had a pleasant bitter end, nicely balanced. So nice to have a good Swedish Double IPA!

16.9 oz bottle. The label indicates November 2011, best by date so maybe brewed 11/10? Strange there are no overseas bottle ratings. Clear dark amber with a slim head. Nose is caramel and orange peel with hints of gin and cat. Milky medium body with a buzz, finishing flabby. Taste is desiccated citrus peel, pine needles and toffee. Ends papery and metallic. What’s up with this stuff?

Pour is a dark copper with a small white head. Aroma is a very nice piney hop with a caramel base malt. Flavor is a way sweet malt with a decent but not overpowering hop profile. Finish is again a very sweet malt on the tounge. I did get this outta the bargan bin but the hops were still showing up, it’s just a little too sweet to move this into a higher rating.

A weird IIPA (from Sweden no less). Aroma was peach, dirty grass and hints of yeast. Very odd. Pour was a nice enough cloudy bright orange with a one finger off white head. Taste was very fruity in the beginning; peach, bubblegum and sugar. Then as the swallow came some cardboard, bitter hops and yeast took over. The mouth was left dry and bitter in the end. Not very much going on to excite the senses. Drinkable. Decent carbonation.

mansquito (2494) - Nueva York, New York, USA - SEP 11, 2011
NBD, NY 500ml ($6): Pours a quickly dissipating loose head over a brownish body. Aroma is mostly malty with very subdued hops. As other people have noted, this beer might not be the best traveler, which I find strange because of the high alcohol content and what not. In any case it is not bad; it is just not all that hoppy. Kind of on the sugary side. It has a few very minor ’off’ notes. Some astringecy, and a bit of bitterness. I don’t know if I would have called this a DIPA when drinking it, but oh well. Still drinkable and enjoyable.

kermis (2463) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - JUN 4, 2011
Draft at Tre Små Rum. Pours hazy amber with of white head. Sweet and herby aroma, but not very powerful. Seems very lightly hopped without enough bitterness. (Rated 2011/04/16)

The same flavor as all the other European iPas, huge flower flavors, at least this one isn’t overly sweet

Bottle from blutt59. Orange pour with a white head. Aroma is really spicy, fruit, and a little earth. Taste is cinnamon, light earth, and lots of grapefruit.

Thanks to IBrew2or3 for the share. Pours amber with orange and some yeast smell. Flavor wasn’t that great tasted of a soury orange, glad it was a split bottle, I wouldn’t be able to finish the whole bottle.
