Jet black, tan head. Rich full-bodied roasty taste, plenty of tangy details, including a dry burntness which stays for quite a long finish. Very aromatic when swirled around the mouth. Some slight coffee hint too. Covers the alcohol very well, and very drinkable.

(Drught) Pours black with a brown head. The aroma is of medium to heavily roasted and light to medium-burned malt with tones of dark caramel, molasses, dark chocolate, coffee and liquorice. Some orange peels are present alongside a tough US hoppiness of spicy pine and mild citrus/grapfruit. The flavour is heavily roasted and medium burned with tones of liquorice, coffee and mild tar. The mouthfeel is a bit sticky, rather thick and oily with a perfect carbonation. Light to medium sweet and medium bitter. Some oranges. Medium to full bodied.

Black color; creamy head. It has a medium aroma of cardboard and roasted malt. Smooth flavor, round mouthfeel, with a good and balanced mix of roasted malt, caramel and very dark chocolate, that hides a nice hop; salty. The final is balanced too. Well brewed.

Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse 68, Stockholm. Very black with creamy beige head. Intense aroma of licorice and grapefruit. Sweet and full bodied. Very concentrated flavour of tar, orange and espresso, notes of strawberry jam. Dense and a bit syrupy, extremely flavourful. Salty tobaccoish finish with more tar.

(Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse No 68, Stockholm) Black colour with firm, creamy, brown head. Roasted, malty nose with dark chocolate, espresso and hints of tar and ashes. Roasted taste with tar, soy sauce, dark fruit, black-currant, liquorice, espresso and cocoa powder. Nice citrussy bitterness in the finish. Full bodied. Lots of flavours, mingling well together. Creamy and smooth mouthfeel. Lovely balance. Yes! Great beer!

Jonte (1184) - Gothenburg, SWEDEN - MAY 24, 2008
UPDATED: OCT 24, 2008 On-tap at The Rover, Gothenburg. Black color with a pale brown head. Hoppy aroma with notes of citrus, roasted malt, coffee and licorice. Hoppy and roasted flavor with notes of coffee, citrus, licorice, and some chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel. Not bad at all, but a bit too dominated by citrusy hops.
