Hah, found my notes finally!! Draught at Ölrepubliken late november 2010 Dark brown with a creamy, off-white head. Chocolate and notees of nuts in the aroma. Roasted flavour with spicies and balanced vanilla/oak. Warming notes of alcohol.

Thanks to Travlr for bringing this. Pours dark murky brown with no head. Aroma has a barrel aged quality with smoked malts, whiskey, raisins, figs, toffee, vanilla, chocolate and brown sugar. Taste is dry alcohol, chocolate, smoke, toffee, vanilla, figs, raisins, brown sugar and lots of barrel. Too dominating.

Botle courtesy of Nisse666 via travlr. Murky brown color with a small light brown head. Aroma is high on bourbon barrel and vanilla. What shines through from the base beer is mostly dark fruits, brown sugar and chocolate - it’s kind of muted by the bourbon, which is the only thing I don’t like about the aroma. The taste is also very barrel forward with bourbon and vanilla, but also a spicy hint of cinnamon and a good roasted body with chocolate and some roasty astringency. Good beer, but I think the barrel is too overpowering and i don’t like the astringency.

Aroma: woody, oaky, boozy, you get the whiskey, floral notes, caramel, chocolate, liquorice, fruity notes, light savory notes, sharpie notes, a bit harsh on the whiskey, some vanilla, Taste: a bit oily, quite sweet, som anise seed, vanilla, roasted, chalky, dry, english liquorice, salt liquorice, the barrel afe quality really comes through. toffee, lakridskonfekt.

Bottle courtesy of Nisse666 in a fantastic trade, thanks! Murky brown color, small tan edge head. Aroma of subtle whiskey, vanilla, very light nutmeg. Taste is malty brown bread and light spice. Not bad.

500mL thanks to Travlr. Mislabeled batch picked up in Norway. Hazy to clear mahogany. Medium to weak tan foam. Weak retention. Nose is 100% acetaldehyde and oxidation. Big oxidized apple slices. Yuck. Taste is smokey and meaty with thicker spiced sausage. Interesting stuff. I like the taste. Some smoked almond. Nose volatiles fade away to reveal smokehouse almonds and cinnamon. Partially redeeming. Too bad the aroma is just too much acetaldehyde. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared by the owner of 3 Sma Rum, Goteberg - Thanks a lot for this rare treat! Pours brown with a tan head. Smell is like Christmas! Heavy aromas of spice, overripe fruit and rum. Flavour is sweet and like a mellow balanced version of the aroma, with a nice bit of vanilla added. Carbonation is low and the body is full. Really enjoyed this beer which I’ll probably never have the chance to try again.

Bottle, sample. Dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma: chocolate, whiskey, toffee. Taste: sweet, toffee, chocolate, whiskey in the finish. This was really nice.

Sample @ Porterfestivalen in Gothenburg on November 19. Pours deep brown with a pale brown head. Smell is sweet, chocolate, vanilla and bourbon. Taste is rather light, sweet and pleasant with sweet fruits like raisins, lots of vanilla, wood, and alcohol.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Hazy dark brown, small head. Bourbon aroma. Mid sweet with coffee and caramel. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel, bourbon and oak on balanced levels. Mid bitter finish. Really tasty!
