COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

500 ml bottle. Raisin, fig, overall sweetness in a dark ale. Not heavy like a porter but very much a winter seasonal with spices. Nice.

Bottle: thanks to VsXsV Medium to small light brown head, changes pretty quick into a light brown lacing on top of a murky dark brown colored beer. Smell oatmeal, liquorice, roasted barleys, something soapy. Taste toffee, roasted malts and roasted barleys, oatmeal, hint of coffee, darker herbs and candy, caramel, medium bitter, not sweet at all. Roasted herrby light roasted barley light coffee aftertaste. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium to fuller body, watery texture.

Thanks to blomster my Secret Santa for this one! Pours very dark brown with a beautiful red garnet color where the light can get through. Tall tan head. Red nosed reindeer on the bottle for the Christmas season. Sweet nutty aroma, some cocoa powder. The flavor is sweet on the front with a roast malt bitterness that comes in next. Some dry chalkiness in the finish.

Bottle. Deep near-black brown body, small egg shell-hued retention. Nose is dark chocolate, rum pralines, strong boozy notes and hints of licorice. A bit hard on the booze here. Taste is more into the territory of dark malts, nuts, hints of cocoa and coffee. A bit washy mouthfeel, and the flavors seem oddly placed, as if going in too many differing directions at once. This is a very undefined brew that lacks a clear purpose. Is it a Christmas ale? A traditional? Porter? Sweet Belgian? All? Neither? Don’t make no sense to me. Try again Dugges.

Bottle from Systembolaget. It poured a pitch black liquid with a medium sized light brown head. Sweet smell with a waft of milk chocolate. Taste of chocolate, toast, biscuits, malts and a hint of smoke. Smooth mouthfeel with a thick and creamy body. Nice and malty beer that should work great with food.
