Bottle from Systembolaget. Dark brown with a tan head. Fruity aroma. Fruity, plummy flavours. Well-balanced. Good winter ale.

Botella de 500ml. Copa Globo. Saboreada en ene´12. Color caoba claro. Capa beige con burbuja media y bastante Buena retención. Aromas de maltas tostadas dulces y trazos de chocolate, vainilla y canela. Sabor malteado con sutil especiado subyacente. Cuerpo y carbonatación medios. Final amargo y seco con notas de frutos secos. 500ml bottle. Snifter glass. Enjoyed on jan´12. Light mahogany in color. Beige, medium bubbled head. Fairly good retention. Sweet toasted malt aromas, hints of chocolate, vanilla & cinnamon. Malty flavor with subtle spiced underneath. Medium body, medium carbonation. Dry bitter finish. Dried nuts hues.

Bottle: thanks to VsXsV Medium to small light brown head, changes pretty quick into a light brown lacing on top of a murky dark brown colored beer. Smell oatmeal, liquorice, roasted barleys, something soapy. Taste toffee, roasted malts and roasted barleys, oatmeal, hint of coffee, darker herbs and candy, caramel, medium bitter, not sweet at all. Roasted herrby light roasted barley light coffee aftertaste. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium to fuller body, watery texture.

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2012 Bottle. Dark brown colour with a beige head. A lot of roasted barley aroma. Sweet fruity flavour with a lot of roasted barley.

Bottle at Ølfestival 2011. A clear, dark chestnut colored beer with a minimal sized off-white head. Roasted nose with dried fruits, raisins mostly, and coffee notes. Dried fruits, caramel, coffee-like roastyness and a decent fruity hoppyness. Medium to full body, quite dry. The finish is long and dry, with caramel and dried fruits. Not really sure about this one, it’s a quite nice beer, but considering it’s a winter beer, or even worse, if it’s supposed to be a Christmas beer, the name suggests the latter, it’s not complex and tasteful enough. Ok, so it’s tasteful and it washes down easily, but it’s not a Christmasy beer in my book. Still, I like it. 110527

Bottle at KØ-2011. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is smoked, malt, caramel, spices. Flavour is smoked. apple, spices, roasted malt, hop, caramel, fruit. OK beer.

50cl bottle, courtesy of and shared with Gnoff. Brune noirâtre, col épais beige. Arôme malt grillé et dark, fruits noirs. En bouche, fruits noirs; date, figue, raisins, avec un malt caramel, toffee, pointe de ester de banane et une légère amertume. Amertume modérée. Belle surprise.

Mörkt mahognyfärgad med lågt beige skum. Söt doft av torkad frukt, knäck och blommig engelsk humle. Fyllig rostad kropp med med chokladkaraktär. Dessutom hårdrostat kaffe, katrinplommon, lite soja, sötlakrits och muskovadosocker. Många söta referenser med andra ord men med en beska och starka som matchar det väl. Lång och mycket god eftersmak. Kanske lite väl mycket restsötma kvar som blir lite väl sött i längden.

Deep brown, off white head. Aroma is malty, lightly roasty and toasty. Taste is lightly warming, caramel, toasted.

Thanks to tkrjukoff for this bottle. Very nice dark brown/red color, white head. Smells a little weird, like some sort of berries or cherries. Taste also pretty sweet to me. Carbo and body decent. Weird when you expect a porter, although the commercial description already says it’s not really a porter (thanks Timo for translating that to me) but more something like a ’dark ale’.
