COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottled. Dark dark brown colour, almost black, with a rocky head. Aroma like a sweet stout. Grainy malty, with a chocolate backbone, with accompanying mint chocolate, nougat, nuts and a light, elegant touch of un-named spices. Really nice! Mouthfeel is really rounded, bit sweet as it ought to be, with rye bread lingering, followed up by nutty chocolate and an overall feel of chocolate malts, finishing with nougat again. The mouthfeel is smooth and perfect and fairly sweet but far, far from sticky. After is all about nougat and chocolate and lingers nicely with a touch of bitter chocolate. This is the ultimate beer for the Yulebord.

Frovigalning (1462) - Örebro, SWEDEN - JAN 7, 2011
Bottle from Systembolaget. It poured a pitch black liquid with a medium sized light brown head. Sweet smell with a waft of milk chocolate. Taste of chocolate, toast, biscuits, malts and a hint of smoke. Smooth mouthfeel with a thick and creamy body. Nice and malty beer that should work great with food.

Countbeer (1943) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - FEB 20, 2012
Bottle: thanks to VsXsV Medium to small light brown head, changes pretty quick into a light brown lacing on top of a murky dark brown colored beer. Smell oatmeal, liquorice, roasted barleys, something soapy. Taste toffee, roasted malts and roasted barleys, oatmeal, hint of coffee, darker herbs and candy, caramel, medium bitter, not sweet at all. Roasted herrby light roasted barley light coffee aftertaste. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium to fuller body, watery texture.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2011 Bottle. Hazy dark brown/red with an off-white head. Quite a big aroma with chocolate, fruit and roasted malts. Taste: chocolate, licorice, berries, some knäck, rather sweet, and it also has an acidity to it. A bit above medium-bodied with a somewhat fizzy mouthfeel. I remember it as even better on draught last year, but still definitely one of my favourite Christmas beers this year.

Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Mahogany colour, small head. Orangey nose with mild earthiness behind. Medium sweet with rounded mouthfeel. There’s earthy malt, orange, salt and herbal spices as well as mild honeyish notes. A near full bodied warming offering with good balance.
