3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thanks to tkrjukoff for this bottle. Very nice dark brown/red color, white head. Smells a little weird, like some sort of berries or cherries. Taste also pretty sweet to me. Carbo and body decent. Weird when you expect a porter, although the commercial description already says it’s not really a porter (thanks Timo for translating that to me) but more something like a ’dark ale’.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. Deep near-black brown body, small egg shell-hued retention. Nose is dark chocolate, rum pralines, strong boozy notes and hints of licorice. A bit hard on the booze here. Taste is more into the territory of dark malts, nuts, hints of cocoa and coffee. A bit washy mouthfeel, and the flavors seem oddly placed, as if going in too many differing directions at once. This is a very undefined brew that lacks a clear purpose. Is it a Christmas ale? A traditional? Porter? Sweet Belgian? All? Neither? Don’t make no sense to me. Try again Dugges.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled from bottle at the beer festival in Copenhagen ’11. Fawn-coloured patches on the top of a near-black body. Inviting smell of caramel malts. Fin balanced flavour of dark fruits and caramel malts. Dry ending. Very nice, would surely be appreciated in Norway at Christmas time this year (27.05.2011).

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Poured into a tulip glass a dark brown caramel color with a light tan head that coasters around the glass. Swirling creates a nice coastered head. Rich aroma of caramel, spice, and dark fruit. Medium mouthfeel. Pretty sweet with lots of fruit notes and then POW! it turns a little cough syrup and "flattens" out on ya. Some roast as well. Surprisingly the alcohol shows a little more than I thought it would. I like the start but hate the finish on this one.
