COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

courtesy of Per - hazy redish-brown colour with a poor head retention; very malty and nutty aroma with notes of apples and gingerbread underneath; full-bodied and sticky, strong sweetness partially balanced by a fair bitterness; very long nutty finish, malty and with residual sugars - a solid, very tasty beer

Cloudy amber with a small, but lasting off-white head. Aroma has juicy hops, orange and pine mostly. Malty sweet flavour with plenty of citrus hop flavour to balance. Bitter finish. A little alcohol hotness.

Big beige lasting head. Deep red body. Roasty fruity cinnamon aroma with citric pine needle hop notes. Dry-sweet citric tropical fruit hop taste with roasty malty pine needle hop notes. Sharpish bitter mouthfeel. Dry-acidic burnt pine needle aftertaste with vinegary alcohol and pepper notes. Harmonic, but lacks complexity, and tastes mildly spoilt. It’s not bad, but certainly not great, either. (0.5l bottle, Systembolaget, Göteborg.)

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2008 (Bottle) The beer pours a deep dark reddish brown colour with a medium creamy off-white head. The aroma is medium malty/light to medium sweet, near medium hoppy and light to medium yeasty. Tones of light sweet caramel, mild candi sugar, touch of jalapenos/chili oily-like coffee roastiness/phenols, black cherries, black currant, brown sugar, dark sticky liquorice, dusty/light moldy, resin, green grapefruit, lime zest and some flowers. The nose is much more American hoppy then your typical Belgian strong. A good deal of alcohol is present in both the aroma and flavour. The undertones is subtle spicy with some dark fruitiness of raisins. The flavour is medium to full malty and medium hoppy. The typical features of light burned and dry malt with citric, resiny and light tart/acid hops are all present, making this very a typical Dugge beer. Vinous undertones of blue grapes and dried/dark fruit are notable. The mouthfeel is light tart, clan, fiery and light numbing from the alcohol. The aftertaste is of mild camelish, roasted malt and vegetal, green grapefruit-like hops. Medium to full bodied.

Bottle. Pours a reddish orange colour with an off-white head. The aroma is very fruity with notes of liquor infused plums, caramel, fudge and chocolate. You do feel the alcohol in the flavour. Notes of dried fruit, some sourness and wmerican hops. The finish is roasted with notes of coffee beans and liquorice. Quite good amount of bitterness. Nice!

Bottle (RBESG 08): Hazy, brownish, small beige head; some fruits and tobacco in the nose; stronger bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied; chocolate and dried fruits in the warming, bitter-sweet finish. Good and strong...........
