deft (50), Sweden Apr 9, 2008 Blind at Dugges 080329. Hazy red with plenty of light tan head. Very hoppy aroma, with citrus. Malty and hoppy taste, sweet. Low bitterness. (official winner of this blind tasting event!)
mybestfriend (241), Gothenburg, Sweden Jul 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a reddish orange colour with an off-white head. The aroma is very fruity with notes of liquor infused plums, caramel, fudge and chocolate. You do feel the alcohol in the flavour. Notes of dried fruit, some sourness and wmerican hops. The finish is roasted with notes of coffee beans and liquorice. Quite good amount of bitterness. Amber color, small beige head. Nutty, yeasty aroma, some alcohol. Dark malty, dark chocolaty, very alcoholic and fruity (prunes). Good nice dark malty and fruity aftertaste with alcohol punch. pilsnerrogge (1557), Finspång, Sweden Jul 16, 2008 Bottled Deep amber with a low but firm head. Malty aroma with notes of oranges and red berries. Bitter flavour with notes of hops, salty liquorice and alcohol. A bit too strong for its own good. Veer (321), Landskrona, Sweden Jul 14, 2008 Aroma: hohoho... wonderful, zesty, pine, chocolate, nutty, dried pineapple, much more American than Belgian profile. Molasses / dark syrup.
Flavour: wow, sourish, very sourish, musty, very malty, dried cranberries & figs. Slightly of tarragon or chervil & liquorice. Wormwood?
Palate: very smooth, fluffy.
Appearance: slightly foggy deep red copper with yellowish & irregular but fine foam.
