25.4 oz. bottle, consumed on 12-12-11. 2003 edition, according to the cork. Labeled as "Duinen Dubbel." Sour aroma features red apple, green apple, and golden raisin scents. Pours a maroon with a deep but bright red hue. Beautiful dark red appearance. Moderate amount of taupe head. Caramel, red apple, and lemon flavors. Astringent finish. Sharp, bitter aftertaste. A little bit of heat in the palate. On the verge of being unpleasant. Looks and smells more like wine than it does like a typical beer. Interesting beer; intense and definitely memorable.

Dark brown with 3" of light tan head. Aroma is caramel apples, with very faint cinnamon/spice. Taste is the same, and red apple is prominent, and absent most of the dark fruit in American examples. Slight grape and cola into the finish. 2.5Eu/33cl

Decent caramel and toffee flavours, but a very metallic smell. Might carry some of the metal in its flavour too.
