Bottle @home from Mitra in Haarlem. Fantastic Bock! I love the slight smoke taste in combination with te typical bock bitterness. One of the best bock beers tasted so far this year.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap. Very subtle smoke flavour. I was afraid that it would dominate too much, but it didnít. Good, traditional Dutch "bok". Quite light ruby coloured. Round and sweet. Very happy with it!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark amber, medium creamy beige head. Definite smoke here, or bacon. Earthy, plums. Nice and not overdone. Balanced taste, malty, roasty focus. Good brew, fairly easily drinkable, even with the smoke and malty base. Everything seems to be in balance then while providing a solid, light sweet and definitely pleasant taste. Could match the German competition for me. Very nice to see this from a Dutch brewer too! (On tap at Kafe BelgiŽ)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ home. The aroma has a lot of toasted caramel malts, dark fruits, some chocolate and a light hint of smoke. Hazy, brown coloured beer with an off-white/beige, medium head. The taste is moderate sweet, slightly bitter and has all the flavours present in the aroma. Medium bodied, well balanced. Very enjoyable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a large, light brown, creamy head that mostly diminishes. Body is flat black but sparkles are visible. Aroma contains dark chocolate, coffee, pine, citrus fruits, cherry, smoke, clove, licorice and toasted and roasted malts. Flavor starts of light acidic with fruits and sweet, quickly followed by heavy licorice and light smoked malts, to be completed by bitterness from hops and light fruits. Flavors last long. Palate is medium, texture is silky. Carbonation is soft and adds to the silky feeling. This is a nice smoked bock with a pleasant feel. Not spectecular, but very decent.
