Duits & Lauret Stout is a very complex, dark and full-bodied beer. A beer to really take your time for in order to enjoy and experience its rich and complex flavour. An aroma of coffee and dark chocolate can easily be discerned. Roasted accents and a slight bitterness are typical of this beer. The stout combines wonderfully well with oysters or spicy dishes, and certainly with desserts in which chocolate or dried fruits have been used as ingredients.

Bottle from European Local Swap 4.0, thanks to Douberd. Black beer with a nice beige head. Roasted coffee aroma, chocolate, tar, licorice, some fruity notes. Bitter coffee flavor, dark chocolate, cocoa, soot, some fruits. Decent beer but not more.

Bottle. Very dark brown, average and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate, malty - light oat and sweetish aroma, light caramel and some roasted malt and light coffee. Body is medium, malty and sweetish, light caramel and light roasted malt with light coffee. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, light - some roasted malt, light coffee and faint hoppyness. Medium- bodied stout with coffee. OK, but nothing special - way too sweet for me.

33cl bottle, Mitra Nijmegen 12/2013. Does everything a modern stout should: dark chocolate, liquorice, smoke, ash, some bayleaf and herbal-vegetable yeast overtones. Light body, with an unusually vividly sparkling palate, creating an extra dry bitter attack. Quite some overlap with Viven’s stout from de Proef, this could be any non-stout brewing nation’s cover version of the UK real thing brewed under perfect laboratory conditions.

Bottled at Frape in Mestreech. A black color with with a tan head. Layered lacing. Roasted sweet malt nose. Aroma has roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malts with notes of roast and smokey dry finish. Nice to have a light but full stout!

Bottle. Pours a dark black, brown firm, fine bubbley head. Nose to me smells faintly chocolatey and some coffee, but to me more sweet - raisins, fruit. As it warms it is more robust. Mouthfeel is thin. Flavor is medium to heavy bitter, lingers - this i like. Full. Nice beer; for me, would have liked a bit more full mouthfeel, other than that it is well done.

Bottle 33cl. Poors black in the glass with a soft foamy brown head. Nose has hints of english liquorice, burned caramel and little coffee. Nice taste, but not as intense as other heavy beers. Great finish with a good bitterness, which makes it nice drinkable

33cl bottle @ home. Black color, minimal brownish head. Aroma toast in the nose, coffee, soy sauce, dark chocolat notes, ash, smoked fish, slight dark fruits, complex but moderated. Taste very light sweetness, medium to heavy bitterness. Nearly full body, bit sticky texture, average carbonation, easy bitter finish. Not a powerful stout, rather an easy enjoyable one.

Bottle, pours black. Toffee, caramel, chocolate and caramel on the nose this smells like a fantastic beer. Thin and week on the palate, way to sweet for me, such a disappointment once drunk.
