Duits & Lauret Stout is a very complex, dark and full-bodied beer. A beer to really take your time for in order to enjoy and experience its rich and complex flavour. An aroma of coffee and dark chocolate can easily be discerned. Roasted accents and a slight bitterness are typical of this beer. The stout combines wonderfully well with oysters or spicy dishes, and certainly with desserts in which chocolate or dried fruits have been used as ingredients.

Malty, roasted flavor with a mellow chocolate aftertaste. Medium to weak body with a smooth finish and a lingering sweetness.

33cl. Bottle. Pours black with cream head. Aroma sweet chocolate, coffee, licorice, caramel, dark fruits. Taste choco caramel sweet, hoppy bitter. Mouthfeel thin, dry. Awesome stout! Complex, loads of taste. Great stuff.

From Beers of Europe. Subtle flavours of chocolate and coffee, hints of dried fruit. Lacks a big aroma, which I was expecting, but it also lacks an overpowering roast, which I also expected and this is not a bad thing. Don’t get me wrong, the roast character is there, but it lurks subtly in the background and just surfaces around the aftertaste, giving such a good finish. Blackcurrant becomes apparent towards the end, looks perfect, deep black, with a lovely foaming tan head. This is a beer I could drink plenty of - it doesn’t taste anything like 6.5% ABV and is a superb example of the style.

75CL bottle pours pitch-black with a lot of coffee going on, light brown big head. aroma is typical stout, coffee and chocolate. palate is also coffee and chocolate. Also a tiny bit of smoke present. Quite complex. nice and dry taste. overall, a fine stout. bit bit sour because of the carbonation. a lot of complexity for this low alcohol.

Pleasant roasty malt aroma with some coffee in there too. Texture quite smooth with just a light carbonation. Flavour is well balanced. The bitterness is not overpowering and the finish is quite smooth.

33cl bottle @ home. Black color, minimal brownish head. Aroma toast in the nose, coffee, soy sauce, dark chocolat notes, ash, smoked fish, slight dark fruits, complex but moderated. Taste very light sweetness, medium to heavy bitterness. Nearly full body, bit sticky texture, average carbonation, easy bitter finish. Not a powerful stout, rather an easy enjoyable one.

educational courtesy of bartlebier, thank you! faint aromas of toasted bread, rum raisins, dried plums, more toast, and distinctive, complex roasted malt flavours, light on the palate, almost a bit watery to my taste. Long, subtle malty finish, with some pumpernickel edges.

Bottle. Good roasted aroma, coffee, chocolate. Seemingly cloudy dark brown colour, red shine. Good roasted flavour. Nice coffee note with a bit of smoke. Very good. A bit thin mouthfeel, but does not seem like a high ABV either, so well done.

Almost black colour, beige head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, burned malts, chicory. Lots of flavour for the ABV. Coffee with chicory tones, malts, burned malts. Bit creamy texture. Quite some burned malts bitterness. Finish rather dry and bitter. Nice one.
