UPDATED: APR 1, 2015 Aroma of malt, sweet dried fruits, caramel toffee, molasses, liquorice, date, mild spices. Flavour is big malty and caramel, dried fruits, quite sweet. Overall a bit too sweet for my taste, but the delicious aroma more than makes up for it. A true ’dessert beer’.

75cl shared bottle @ home, from De Molen beershop. Dark brown color, small brownish mostly lasting good lacing head. Aroma wineish nose, molasses, caramel, light cherry, roasted malt, chocolate, herbs. Taste medium sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour. Medium body, sticky and dry texture, soft carbonation, medium lasting roasty bitter-sweet finish. Excellent dessert beer, not a usual belgian ale at all, bit too sweet for me still interesting and enjoyable.

Deep brown colour with long lasting head. Aroma and flavour both capture the sweet, dried fruits present in many dark Trappist beers. Also a touch of banana, date and wood. Rich, smooth.
