Abio (1133) - Waasland, BELGIUM - JUN 20, 2010
Pours out dark brown, medium lightly beige head that holds not long enough, but the last part stays some longer it seems. Sweet caramel with fruits smell. Not bad. Lightly the hops comes through also. Sweet, lightly fruited taste. Some bread/cookies inside. Not bad, could get some more body maybe, some more taste, cause a bit to watery in my opinion. Mouthfeel is ok, and the beer is drinkeable for sure.

Dark brown, orange glow, large floaties. Aroma of prune, hops, forest fruits, caramel, bubblegum and Turkish fruit tobacco. Flavour is a balanced bitter sweetness with red fruit, hints of coffee, caramel, a bit dry, fading away slowly. Nice.

A typical dark and sweet Belgian beer. I must admit that it what somewhat later in the evening when I had it, but I wasn’t really impressed. A little too sweet for me, but ok - I’ve definately had worse.

Bottle. Quite strong smell of yeast, fresh bread and some hops. The head is very large, foamy and white with a long duration. The body is dark red. The taste is very malty, some melkchocolate, later light fruity and sour. The body is creamy, light to medium strong with a lively carbonation.
