3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 omhper (15964) - Stockholm, - MAY 5, 2003
Sampled draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden.
If I'm bot misinformed this blending beer was previously brewed at Vanderlinden, but now Boon has taken over, and also ramped up the alcohol significantly. The colour is mahogany and there is no head. There are malt and dark cherries in the aroma. It is sweet and clean with complex woody cherry flavours and a touch of balsam. The finish is discrete and velvetty.

9/V/2012 - 33cl bottle @ ’t Vosken (Gent) - BB: 6/XII/13 (2012-482)
Clear dark red brown beer, big creamy beige head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: dried fruits (figs), mocha, dark chocolate, some green banana. MF: soft carbon, medium body, alcohol warming the throat. Taste: bit sour start, chocolate, some caramel, grassy hops, green banana, bit of mocha, dried fruits. Aftertaste: dried fruits, bitter hoppiness, sweet sugary, alcohol almost burning the throat, quite some banana, and pretty bitter in the end.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 10, 2012
Dumpy 33cl brown bottle (bottle conditioned), best before early May 2012, poured into a Westmalle chalice mid Oct 2011.
No sediment left the bottle so I had a bright, clear reddy brown bodied beer with a thinning white head before me.
Semi sour red fruit smells, but nothing too strong.
The taste has an alcohol front with those sour red fruits mixed with some sweeter molasses taking centre stage once the alcohol feel subsides.
The body is a bit thin for an 8% ABV brew, the beer has character but just lacks that extra quality to put it above others within this style.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 MaartenRF10 (520) - Wageningen, NETHERLANDS - MAR 3, 2012
Slightly hazy brown with off-white head. Uninteresting beer, but ok. Some sourness, some sweetness, some raisin.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 GillesFrancois (16) - BELGIUM - JAN 22, 2012
Chocolate and coffee bean, slightly roasted to the tongue, sizzling at it. Frothy head that disappears quick. Good with a stew in winter, not too delicate though.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Christian (8548) - Odense, DENMARK - JAN 22, 2012
Copper with a small off-white head. Biscuit and caramel aroma with dried fruit and a bit of phenolic spice. Sweetish fruity flavour with apricot and cherry, some caramel and dark sugar. Biscuit malty notes with good balance
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 martinrumsam (236) - BARNSTAPLE, Devon, ENGLAND - DEC 30, 2011
bottle into leffe goblet .bb05/2012 pours nice white head that soon goes slight haze deep amber colour sweetish dark fruits aroma . medium carbonation . quite refreshing for an 8% beer lightish fruty taste with hops coming through . not as much body as you would expect fairly watery but goes down well . I quite like it as a change from the heavy artillery beers that I prefer such as Gulden Draak ,
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 77ships (976) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - DEC 21, 2011

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 MoritzF (7402) - Bochum, GERMANY - OCT 22, 2011
(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, dark amber colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Dark malty and citrus-fruity sourish aroma with shades of caramel in the background. Moderately sweet flavour with a tinge of acidity, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. More pronounced malt-character in the taste but still with a sourish citric note that does not pair so well, also faint notes of caramel and liquorice in the back; moderately sweet and sour finish without noticeable length but a well-masked alcoholic level. I am not convinced. 22.X.11
