(Bottled) Hazy, deep, dark red color with lots of floating yeast and a medium, lacy and lasting head. Slightly sour and sweet, fruity aroma. Fruity, slightly caramely sweet, but sourish, quite malty flavor with a reasonable hop bite. Medium to full-bodied palate with very balanced carbonation. A very pleasant, quite full but easily drinkable brew.

Stubby 330 ml bottle, at De Paas in Den Haag. Poured into its own glass. Deep caramel colour, transparent enough. A thin line of beige head on top of it, with low retention. Aroma of caramel and a bit of chocolate. Taste is sweet, lots of candy sugar, ripe fruits. Good mouthfeel with medium thickness and good amount of carbonation. Overall, nice and drinkable but nothing too special.

Scopey (3376) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2013
Bottle at Boon, during TdG 2013. It pours deep red-brown with a medium yellow-white head. The nose is earth, wood, light caramel and chocolate. The taste is earth, toast, caramel, cocoa, brown sugar, brown bread, alcohol and light bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well balanced and pretty drinkable.

Draft sample @ Boon during TdG ’13. Cheers to Scopey for the pour. The appearance is hazy amber with a tiny tan head. Very sweet, full aroma. Loads of tasted nut, marzipan, stewed forest fruit. Toffee and caramelized sugar. The taste is similar. Nice rich toffee profile. Brown bread. Full, nutty malt flavors. Peanut butter cocoa puff sweetness. Rich, slightly hot on the palate. Mild carbonation. Decent.

Dark, nice white head. Medium carbonation. Sweet and bitter. Notes of caramel and raisins. Not very complex, drinks easy.

Best by date 2/27/2010 - thanks to an anonymous person at Fantôme brewery last summer. Pours super dark brown with reddish highlights and a nice tan head. Smell is dark fruit, brown sugar, black licorice. Taste is Licorice, dark fruit, raisins, some oxidation. Medium body, mild carbonation. Overall maybe a bit over the timeline but still pretty tasty.
