2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Kunstemaecker (27) - Steenkerke, BELGIUM - SEP 1, 2011
A beer with a rich aroma which, sadly enough, is countered by its sweet taste. Sweetness all around. Surprisingly long aftertaste. I was not aware of the style of beer I ordered so maybe that played a role in my opinion. It is now brewed by Boon, who knows how to make a mean lambic and geuze.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 thirdeye11 (4093) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 12, 2011
(33cl bottle thanks to bu11zeye) clear rich amber with soapy tan bubbles. Nose is very muted, brown sugar, not much else here. Taste is very dry, bread, brown sugar, a bit oxidized but works well here, just bland in general. Still it’s well carbonated.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Martinus (873) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - JUN 1, 2011
Old rating
Found an old rating, one of the first I ever wrote down back in ’98. Think I didn’t realise it was a Faro back then. The points and total score loose all meaning, especially as I used different scale/criteria back then. Just putting it here to preserve the memory and for the quirkiness of it.
Dark brown colour, slight brownish head. Aroma rather sweet, like honey, caramel, bit sour and fruity. Flavour rather (too) sweet, molasses, caramel, no hops bitterness. Quite one-dimensional.
(From 25cL bottle)

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a murky, yeasty brown color. Not very attractive. The aroma is brown sugar and caramel. The flavor is similar, with the addition of some light tartness and a little bit of funk. The brown sugar notes make the beer fairly sweet. Thin mouthfeel and low carbonation.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 blutt59 (4928) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 11, 2011

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Dixonian (1200) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 10, 2011
Bottle - thanks to bu11zeye.
Reddish brown pour - interesting wood aromas. I got the bottom of the bottle so lots of yeasty goodness floating around. Earthy yeast with a touch of sourness.
