Dark ruby brown, medium body, chocolate on nose, berry fruits with a long fruity finish.

jamesie1857 (1225) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 26, 2013
On cask at Three Tuns, Dronfield - Decent looking drink, murky deep reddy brown, solid white head. Nose is mild liquorice, roasted malt and a bit of coffee lurking in the back. Taste is dry, reasonable enough body, nice roasted finish. Quite good to be honest and one that grew on me as it went on.

The_Bish (1124) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 5, 2013
Cask at Doctor’s Orders in Nottingham. Proper porter as it should be. Akin to the 1687 versions, lacking the body of those classic times obviously, but portery enough.

leaparsons (7794) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 27, 2013
Cask, The Pub, Leicester. Very dark brown with a beige foam. Aromas are floral and fruity with berries and roast coffee, chocolate with creamy oak and hints of vanilla. Flavours are smooth, oily chocolate with apple and tart lemon. Very lightly roasted coffee with lots of yeasty, gritty notes coming through. Nor great.

niquillis (783) - Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 21, 2013
On cask at Cheshire Ring, Hyde. Pours black with tan head. Body is a little thin, roasts, liquorice. OK but needs more body.
