Tap @ Brewpub .Pale green, medicine like, small to no head. Spicy, green leaf, pokrzywa (nettle), herbal nose very true to original aroma, some of pine/spruce as well. Clean bitterness with bitter spicy bite. Very interesting almost bizarre . Superb herbal beer.

Draft at Pivovarský Dum, summer 2011. Saw the people next to me order this Ecto Cooler lookalike and I had to try it. Just as pictured, the body is a lightly hazy, mossy, slime green color. A thick and puffy head of cream colored foam settles at a moderate pace to a thin film, leaving behind broken walls and spots of lace. Certainly looks interesting. The nose hits with an explosion of white pepper, very sharp and dusty, and nearly sneeze-inducing! Once you get past the initial onslaught, underlying malts are cereal based, hinting also at corn...almost like a cheap pale lager. The flavor is just as intense, attacking the tongue with sharp black and white pepper, all over a pretty terrible pale lager corn malt base. The palate is thin and weak, definitely lacking substance, and the moderate carbonation bubbles tend to intensify the stinging effect of the peppery nettle leaves. What a dysfunctional beer. Pretty terrible.

18/11 Sampled at the brewpub. It poured clear green body, small white head. Nice. Nettle aroma, similar herbal flavor, slightly bitterish, also touched with their typical bread malt. Medium bodied with pretty long, slightly bitter and spicy herbal finish. It’s very interesting and peculiar brew, which, for a change, I liked despite it got a bit warm already.

Looks like a glass of ecto coolorer. Grassy green color, clear with light haze. Little head. Smells like a Christmas tree. Pine cone and wood notes. Very woody flavor. Strong note of black peppery. Some cinnamon and ctirus notes. Very bitter hoppy finish. I enjoyed it. Unlike anything I’ve ever had.

On tap at Pivovarsky Dum. Clear green, small head. Huge nettle herbal nose. Herbs, mint, and pine. Bizarre, and not in any way good. Points for originality... I guess.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2011 On tap at Pivovarsky Dum, Prague. Colour; dark lime-green with foamy light green head. The nose is pungent nettle and herbs! Taste: nettles, green vegetables, herbs, pepper, lime and lemon. It’s quite thin and has a short herby finish. I didn’t find it particularly enjoyable, but if nettles are your thing you might just love it!
