Tap @ Pivovarský Dum, Prague.
Thankfully with the lemon on the side of the glass!
Pours hazy pale yellow-golden with a small, creamy white head that disappears rather quickly. Aroma is sweet, light green apples and lots of overripe banana. Fine, lightly creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly fruity, banana and apple again with some graininess and a firm, crisp hops finish. Nice.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy yellow with a lacing white head. Mild banana, yeasty and estery aroma. Flavour is medium sweet and of estery fruity accents. Shows a mild yeasty and wheaty finish. Goes gradually more dry.

sample at brew pub ... light hazy yellow ... banana bubblegum ... mellow banana wheat ... ok but not the best.

(Draught) Pours hazy yellow. The aroma is wheaty and light banana-ish with a touch of clove. The flavour is of wheat, bananas alongside some light notes of clove. The mouthfeel is smooth and light salty. Light grassy with a tiny bitterness. Light to medium bodied. Quite typical, yet drinkable.

Draught @ the brewpub. Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacework. Cloudy golden color. Aroma wheat, fruit, grain, yeast, citrus and banana. Light bodied with an average carbonation. Light sweet and acidic flavor. Sweet wheat like finish.

Draught at Pivovarsky Dum. Band-aid / germoline aroma / flavour quite strong. Cloves and dill in the aroma. Slight raspberry nose, some apricot. Quite pleasant. Flavoursome and gentle.

Sweet, stacks of bubblegum, very low carbination. Some spice and coriander in the back palate, but flavours ’disappear’ on the finish.

In short: A rather typical Hefe except for an excessive sweetness level. Below average.
How: Tap at brewpub (Pivovarský Dum, Prague)
The look: Cloudy light yellow body with a medium white head
In long: Fresh green bananas and coriander on the nose. The floury wheat gave me an overall sensation of my Shredded Wheat ™ breakfast cereals. Taste is rather lemony. So far this is a good Hefeweizen but it looses points with me because of its sweetness level. Relative to the style this beer was too sweet and not a highly drinkable thirst-quencher. I’ve had a few German style beer brewed in Czech Republic and all failed to impress me. I have however heard that this country is pretty good at brewing Czech pils, but that may just be a rumour.
