Draught (as Stepan Nefiltrovany Svetly Lezak). Slightly hazy golden colour, small white head. Aroma is yeast, malts and hops. Flavour isvery much the same with bigtime mouthdrying grassy hops.

<i<Draught at Pivovarsky Klub, Prague. Lightly hazy golden, small head. Surprisingly brutal hoppiness. There’s hat and resin from the first sip. Perhaps the dryness of this beer shifts the focus away from the bready, grainy malt that is there to the hops. Finishes with lingering powerful bitterness. Quite lovely!

Draught at Pivovarsky Klub. Hazy amber colour. Small stable creamy off-white head. Papery aroma, slightly buttery. The flavour is creamy, OK bitterness.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2012 Tap @ Pivovarsky klub. Pours unclear golden with a creamy lasting head and lacings. Fresh, grassy, hoppy, floral, buiscuit. Good hoppyness. Lasting end. Full bodied. Very nice. Notes from visit March 2012: Odd green apples and lots of dust. Hardly any bitterness. Hardly drinkable.

Golden color, small white head, lace. Lemony hoppy nose. Nice hoppy bite over the citrusy notes. Well-balanced unfiltered beer with some bitterness in the finish.

Tap @ Pivovarsky Klub, Prague.
Pours lightly hazy golden with a medium, creamy, white head. Good duration. Soft aroma, fine grassy hops dominating over light malty grain. Good, creamy mouthfeel with little grains in the liquid. Flavour is crisp malty, but especially the super dry, hoppy finish impresses. Nice.

Cloudy golden ith a lasting white head, leaving lace. Grainy malt and spicy hops in the aroma. Dryish hoppy flavour, very bitter with a delicious Saaz hop flavour

On tap at Pivovarsky Klub, unfiltered, 500ml. Clouded orange gold with bubbly white head. I have to say that this was the best beer of our short Prague tour, sweet and dry fruitiness and a little tartness to the fore. A hoppy, saaz filled finish with memories of fresh fields, vibrant estery flavours. A particurly flavousome beer, good stuff.

I first rated this a 4.0 in 2009 and I’m surprised and pleased that I evaluated it about the same (even higher) in 2011, without knowing that I was re-rating this wonderful beer.

2011: Draft. Perfect honey biscuit just-sweet malt throughout with doughy and bready soft yeast. Perfectly soft texture with wonderful pronounced crispness, medium-high acid, high calcium, hugely quaffable, promotes gulping. Doughy, powdery and buzzing yeast with green, raw hops and a strong mineral presence in a drying finish. Superb.

2009: Draft at Pivovarsky Klub, unfiltered. Honey gold colored body with a light haze, and a sticky, patchy, foamy near-white head. Nose is huge cracker pils malt with a substantially strong yeast presence… dusty, minerally yeast goodness. Resinous sweet malt on the tongue up front, bright, fresh, crisp and vivid throughout, with a syrupy pils malt and grassy, dry Saaz hop note in the finish. Really, really delicious.

My Bottom Line:
A spicy, herbal wetness caresses the svelte honeyed cereals in this crafty and absurdly drinkable Svetly Lezak.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A lofty head of foam decorates the nearly clear gold gown.
-The flavor profile points to a cleaner version of the regular Dum Svetly.
-Balance is reached like most high quality Bohemian Pilseners.
-I admit I was expecting more from this one, especially after having a great pint of Dum Svetly earlier that day.

On tap at Pivovarsky Klub, Praha.
