The aroma is sweet caramelly with some roasted malt tones of coffee and tar alongside some grassy and herbal hops. The flavour is light to medium roasted with tones of coffee and tar. Grassy hops in the background. Light fruity. The mouthfeel is crisp and clean. Light sweet and light to medium bitter. Medium bodied. Nice.
downender (1616), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Oct 4, 2008 On tap at the brewpub 24/09/08. Very dark brown with a big, foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and some caramel. Flavour had plenty of coffee, chocolate and liquorice and a decent dry finish. Very enjoyable. Sweet flavor with roasted, caramel and liquerice. Ends sweet. Habanero (489), Tranbjerg, Denmark Aug 25, 2008 Cask at Pivovarský Dům. Pours hazy, dark brown with a medium sized head. Good lacing. Nose of roasted malt, banana and mild coffee. Sweet malt flavour with caramel and banana esters. Medium bodied. More dry at the end. DSG (867), Yuvalim, Israel Aug 9, 2008 (6/24/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Prague. Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of toasted, almost roasted, malt with hints of coffee. Sweetish flavor with malt and some coffee notes. Medium-bodied. Nice. Svesse (1818), Hässelby, Sweden Aug 2, 2008 (Draught at Pivovarsky Dum, Prague, 21 July 2008) Dark brown colour, almost black, with a frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of chocolate and toffee. Malty, clean taste with chocolate, roasted malt and delicate hints of coffee. Fairly low bitterness. Decent and drinkable.
