3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2L rigger from Regionals.
Pours a cloudy dark brown, classic dunkelweiss colour. Not much head though, what was there was tan coloured.
Aromas of strong banana & a bit of roast malt but overall very sweet smelling.
In the flavour banana esters dominate, but roast malt coffee sneaks in. The body improves as it warms. A good dunkelweiss, but it’s no Emersons.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught at Founders Brewery, Nelson. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a white head that completely disappeared. Aroma and flavour of wheat, spice, citrus and banana. Thin-medium bodied with some tartness in the finish. OK bitterness. I wasn’t overly impressed but not a bad attempt for the style.
