3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ungstrup (23960) - Oamaru, - OCT 30, 2004
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2011 A golden beer with a disappearing head. The aroma is malty and quite light. The flavor is a little sour but also malty and with notes of straw and a hint of wheat.

Pours clear golden with a luffy white head that subsides slowly. More grassy aromas than citrus. Golden hiney flavour that I’m not mad about. Just a gentle, cleansing lager that’s a bit soapy on the finish.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 KapitiCritique (319) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - MAY 19, 2010
500 ml bottle
Aroma: Something burnt (very faint), tinge of herbal hops, a hint of yeast.
Appearance: Very clear pale golden colour, thick white head, foamy, dissipates into rings of thick lacing and settle into a thick foam looks like sea salt foam but white.
Taste: Bitter, pretty much just bitter but there is - or maybe my imagination - a hint of salt.
Palate: I have to go with thin bodied but the soft carbonation makes it seem a little heavier, sort of dry texture and a light bitter alcoholic finish.
Overall: I actually like it. It is not cloying or chewy, it is sort of just bitter and hoppy. So, it is not remarkable but it is a little puzzling.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 phaleslu (3544) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 19, 2009
Draft at the brewery. Pours a pale clear yellow-gold with a bubbly white head and a lot of carbonation. Aroma of citrus, hops, and fruit. Flavor is fruity, with hops and light earthy notes. Light bodied, and almost like a sparkling wine. Interesting take on a pilsner, and I’d rather have this interpretation than most macro pilsners.

Bottle. Pours a bright golden with a moderate bubbly white head that leaves a ring of lace. Gentle hop aroma, some citrus and stems. Crisp grainy profile nicely balanced by fruity hop character suggestive of citrus and pineapple. Finish is quite bitter. A pilsner with nice hop character.

Draught at the brewery bar with Demise. Pours pale golden, white head. Nice yeasty aroma with some citrus fruit, wheat. Tastes has a lot of hop bitterness. Malt makes for some sweetness which the hops offset. Finishes long and dry.
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 sdriessen (318) - Dunedin, NEW ZEALAND - DEC 27, 2008
Very pale - grassy/golden colour with a soft white head that diminishes. Initial aromas are of strong hops with some sweetness like honey. Delicate hints of grass and flowers, a very inviting aroma.
First taste was a pleasant hoppy bitterness, although this did not last long and the beer became weak and watery.
Very clean flavours, a hint of citrus, some straw-like malt, maybe a bit of vanilla. Not very complex.
Crisp on the palate, very refreshing.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Demise (57) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - DEC 21, 2008
Enjoyed a pint at the Brewery itself under the hot Nelson sun. Pours cloudy, almost yellow in colour, with a decent white head. Slightly sweet and wheat-like on the nose with fruity aromas. Hoppy bitterness prominent from the first mouthful - impressive for a kiwi-produced golden lager - with smooth malt characters and passionfruit coming through to sweeten. Slight vanilla notes on the finish. Full-bodied for a lager and rich in flavour. Leaves a hoppy aftertaste, bodering on peppery. Lovely.

Bottle - 500ml. Hazy blond body with average carbonation and a thin white foamy head. Fresh hoppy aroma with honeyish and grassy hints. Sharp hoppy taste that ends with a good bitter finish. Good Pilsner.

I’ve had this one in New Zealand on my honeymoon.
Pretty plain pilsener. Nothing special.
