Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark amber. Aroma is lightly malty (cookie, grain/husks, caramel), with light notes of allspice and pumpkin. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. It’s got an acceptable if simple aroma, but the poor aftertaste and flimsy mouthfeel ruin any hope it had of being drinkable.

Clear dark copper color with a diminished beige head. Clean aroma as in a bar sanitizer scent. Some hints of spice and apple. Thin near spritzy liquid. Flavors of pumpkin and pumpernickel, little bit of spice. Dry nearly acrid finish and linger. Not much festivity in this one for me.

Bottle courtesy of cheapdark. Light funky wet dog and cardboard aroma; mild metallic hoppiness and some hint of cardammon or cinammon, I guess. Some sweetness in there, too. Dark brown-amber, murky, with thin off-white lacing head. Medium-light body with medium carbonation. Starts with some spicy sweetness, like mulling spice and brown sugar. Mild sweet graininess. Has some decent hidden qualities that diminish quickly and are overthrown by a thin corn-like sweetness and a bit of cardboard. Light nutty bitterness to finish, with dull sweet after. Not the worst ’festive’ type ale I’ve had, but nothing I’m apt to have again soon.

Blech. This reminds me of a poorly done SA Winter. Overly spiced, gritty, I can usually get behind some Dundee’s stuff but not this time. Hard to drink. Overly spiced and not a very good beer behind that it seems.

This was an okay beer that I bought on sale. Not to compare with other craft brewery winter ales, as this is somewhat dulled for the masses, but still decent.

Bottle: very spicy, overpowering and unbalanced. Not a Repeat. Food Pairing: Nut Bread.

This is a truly bad beer. It starts out well enough, pouring a nice amber color in the glass w/ a head of medium bubbles but that is about the only good thing I have to say about it. The nose is cloying sweetness backed w/ a heavy handed spice character which is seemingly due to added spices rather than the more subtle spice character developed by a well-treated yeast. Flavor is again sort of sticky and heavy w/ a sort of unsubtle spicing which you can’t really tell what spices are used just that they used a lot of them. The finish has a mild earthen bitterness that doesn’t quite balance the sweetness. Aside from maybe simply to try something new, there is no reason to drink this beer ever.
