COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our India Pale Ale is brewed with an aggressive hop profile derived from Amarillo and Simcoe hops. A blend of Crystal malts creates the backbone which supports the hop character without diminishing it.

A dark amber IPA with a thick white head, lacing. Goddam, this does smell of hops, and good ones at that! Nice cramel and light c-hops aroma makes this a nice little cheap IPA. In mouth, a lightly sweet caramel malt with buttery notes, good sustained bitterness...by Jove, this is a decent IPA, on par with Boreale Rousse. At 90 cents a bottle, this would be a good everyday beer.

The best thing about this beer is the price. It actually has some flavor for the price.

Jacksonville, Fl. - Total Wines - 12 oz bottle. Light amber to medium orange pour - faint white head. Quick sprucey aroma, clean, but faint. Fresh mildly bitter citusy flavor with hints of mint. Some nectarine accents and a hint of caramel as well. Mouthfeel is solid - pleasantly surpised - very good for a bargain micro.

Pours a translucent amber-orange color creating a dense, frothy and pillowy head. Decent head retention and intricate lacing throughout the glass. Good aromatic balance between the malts and hops with reserved notes of citrus rind and cut grass along with toasted bread and caramel. Definitely not the typical assertive NW hop grapefruit/pine nose here. Mouthfeel is quite full and slightly syrupy with an understated carbonation. Taste starts out a bit metallic followed by a slightly harsh hop bitterness. Eventually as the beer warms some carmel candy and crystal malt sweetness comes to the rescue to somewhat tame the harshness. Finish is bitter and dry with a bit of astringency noted. Even though I’m a big IPA fan I think their Pale Ale is a better balanced beer. Not bad but a bit more malty sweetness in the flavor department would help.

12 oz. Bottle. Medium aroma of citrus. Dark copper body with off white head that left some lacing. Flavor had a decent citrus and syrupy texture to the body of beer. Cool refreshing beer. Found it in the bottom corner of a cooler at the liquer store last time there.

I can almost detect the hops in this macro. Sort of bitter, but again, this is a macro. Overall not that bad if you don’t expect too much.

Bottle. Orange-honey color with a thin white head that doesn’t last. Aroma is not that hoppy, and smells too sweet, like over-ripened fruit. Fruit smells are in the citrus family, very one dimensional smell. Flavor is IPAish, but also not that hoppy. Not horrible, but not excellent, it’s just a mainstream version of a style that excels in the micro world. I’d drink this if it was on tap at a bar for happy hour hands down, but I don’t think this will be a repeat otherwise.

Pours an orange-gold with a lemon creme head. Smells of hops, but not strongly...pine and citrus. Taste follows suit and is not bad, sweet but not overly with a nice drying mixture of the Amarillo and Simcoe hops. Balanced, decent representation of an American take on the style.

Oh friendly IPA, can I enjoy your style? I’ve tried flying dog, yards, celebration, titan and arcadia hopsmouth. Shall I rate you on the attributes of your soapy style or may I rate you as I enjoy? I’ll make a hop lover smile by saying IPA is more than I can enjoy in beer personality. Even many pale ales are too grape-fruity for me. Since my other ratings on IPA are numbered by how much I like them, a rookie mistake, I must rate this on the same attributes. I got this IPA in one of those variety packs. This is a 12 oz bottle with a twist off cap. Fruity citrusy yeasty aroma, like many IPAs. Pours a little red brown orange (21K) in my poor steeler stein. Very transparent and sterile. Small bubbly head at first with hints of alabaster. Roasty hop astringent first taste impressions. Yes, like any other IPA, bitter swish that hangs on after every sip. As long as you keep drinken, non-stop, the intense flavor can be tolerated. Perhaps a little less viscous than other IPAs I’ve had, but the flavor is there. Surprisingly good palate with low moderate carbonation. Finish is typical IPA, lingering, lasting, terrible medicine flavor that just keeps going…and going. I am by no means an expert when it comes to IPA, however, you should add this to your rate list. Don’t let the fact that this is made by a macro, keep you at bay. You may be startled to find it also has the higher % alcohol that I’ve seen on other IPA.
