From a holiday sampler, poured into a pils glass. Poured a clear copper color with very little head. Smells pretty much of grapefruit only. It has the hop bite you might expect, but the flavor is shallow and pedantic. I taste grapefruit and a hint of caramel malt. There is a bit of a soapy finish. Meh.

There’s not much impressive to comment about. But and alright IPA. Nothing terribly bad, but nothing too impressive either.

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2007 Poured a light amber with a nice head. Floral, piney hop aroma. Real decent hop taste with a lingering finish that is piney. Most of the taste is on the bitter side with little malt. A good beer for the money.

Not a big fan of IPA’s, and I don’t remember this one making much of an impression on me at the time I drank it. Actually think I had to gulp these down so I could move on to the Nut Brown and Porter’s.

The best thing about this beer is the price. It actually has some flavor for the price.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2008 Pours a dark amber with a white head. Has a strong hoppy aroma. Also has a strong hoppy taste. For me Indian Pale Ales have a very narrow tast difference range so it is very similar to a sweetwater or Dogfishhead IPA. I drank this out of a shaker.

The aroma is earthy, the color comes from Rumpelstiltskin’s wheel. Tastes orange rind bitter with a sweet , almost kumquat rind, note. Finish is like grapefruit, clean with a great lingering bitterness. Unlike all this citrus fruit, the beer is not sour, I didn’t find this model a "lemon."

Dark Brown With Good Head. Hoppy with malty and lasting bitter aftertaste. Easy to drink. Decent, better than expected.

Weak. Pour had nice color decent head. Flavor was somewhat sweet a little hoppy. Weak body could be a lot better.

I don’t know how they label this as being bitter as I had to search for any hop aroma or flavor, definitely more malty not unpleasant but not awe inspiring either.
