COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our India Pale Ale is brewed with an aggressive hop profile derived from Amarillo and Simcoe hops. A blend of Crystal malts creates the backbone which supports the hop character without diminishing it.

Pours a five+ finger white head that fades to a lumpy layer leaving a good lace. Nice crystal clear amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Slight hoppy nose. Flavor is almost sweet piney hops. Slight hoppy finish. Here’s an IPA that doesn’t blow you away with the hops. $1.08 for a 12oz bottle from Capitol Convenience Concord, NH.

Bottle. Orange pour, smaller white head with some lacing - looks pretty good. Aroma is floral and citrus hops. Moderate palate, might be a touch flat, but not bad. Taste is again floral and citrus hops - not much malt, but not much necessary to balance this out. Pretty average.

Pours light. Little head that doesn't hang around. Definite IPA aroma. Not too strong with a bitter after taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355ml bottle. Not a big hop aroma compared to other ipa’s. Pours golden honey, but little to no head. The beer has a nice bitterness too it. But nothing special.

Tried this for the first time last week, a reasonable IPA from the USA. Not a big fruity hop character here but it was there with some slight English hop aroma and flavour too. Clean and crisp but didn’t really excite the taste buds.

In Sept 2006 I wrote this about 3 small bottles: IPA’s were produced to feed the British Army in India, normal British Ales spoiled before they reached them. Extra hops were added during the brew, the first IPA’s were born. This one, to my British taste, is not hoppy enough to be a true IPA. It is a fine beer, but I enjoyed the three I have had and would gladly drink it again.

Bottle from Dan Murphy’s Melbourne CBD. Well balanced, and with a long mouthfeel. Aromas of caramel, herbs, and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet and bitter, with average length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.

From a 355ml bottle on 26/4/2012. Pours a clear golden orange with a big head. Has a relatively slight fruity and caramel malt aroma. Flavour wise, it’s quite solid, with sweet citrus and stone fruits up front, followed by a reasonably pronounced and quite long hop bitterness. I’m genuinely puzzled at the caning this has received on here ratings wise, as this is actually quite decent. While certainly not a top flight American style IPA, I could happily sink a few of these during a session, as it has a fair bit of character.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a minimal white heat. Light aroma with some malt and a little fruit. No real hops. Sweetish malty taste with caramel notes. Mild hop flavor, mostly at the end. I cannot detect any citrus, which makes me wonder where the Simcoe is. Slight bitter aftertaste. Not a good effort.

Originally reviewed: 2/12/10. Part of the mixed 12-pack. Poured into a pint glass. Pours a crystal clear dark orange with a huge foamy off-white head on top. Retention was superb, leaving tons of sticky lace globs all over the glass. Looks nice. Scents of toasted grains, and light citrusy hops. Not much there. The body is crisp with a moderate-high amount of carbonation. Light oily feel on the back end. Bitterness is definitely present in this one. But that’s about it. Lacks complementing flavors that go with it. Finish is slightly boozy. Aftertaste is a little charring. Overall, this was better than I thought it was going to be, but if I’m getting a sessionable IPA, there are much better choices out there.
